Are there more Christian bands that have that Southern stoner metal sound like Starchild's S/T or Down - NOLA (from the secular scene)? Mid-paced, heavy as all get out, perfect for driving with the windows down on a humid one-hundred degree day in the Southland kinda stuff. Personally I only know Dustt, mentioned above. "Escape from Hell" (typically a harsh noise project) did a stoner/doom EP that had a kind of "southern metal" sound to it, but it's only available on mega.nz right now.

Found this. MA calls it "melodic goth/doom". True Wisdom. Pretty solid!

This was recommended a little while back in a Christian music Facebook group. I don't know much about the band, but the songs definitely have biblical themes. I bought a digital copy and loved it! Does anyone know some relaxing slow atmospheric doom for falling asleep to, in the vein of Oak, Eremit, On Thorns I Lay? I guess this would be "funeral doom?" Bonus points for Christian bands.

Ea - Ea Taesse is relaxing funeral doom. Not Christian though. I also like Sunn ■]]] (not to be confused with Sunn O)))). In terms of Christian bands, you might like some of Flock of Crows' drone music, but I don't know how "metal" you could call it. Or En Kriger - All Your Abominations. Black/drone. There's also Michael Mosher's one project Mold which I'm pretty sure only appeared on this split album. Michael of course being a Christian, but I don't know if this was intended to be "evangelistic" etc.

I recently picked up Pale Divine's "Cemetery Earth." What a fantastic stoner/doom album. Perhaps the most Southern sounding band to come out of Pennsylvania.

Ravnevarg - New project from Kenneth Nattesorg! I would call it "drone metal", but there are no drums. Interesting anyway!

Just got into The Obsessed. They sound like Black Sabbath if Biff Byford from Saxon was the singer.

Michael Mosher's stoner/doom project Jesus People of Doom is on a new compilation! Loud & Lonely Vol 2. JPoD's track is #31. If you don't know that project, it's a continuation of "Cult of Divine Mercy", originally a harsh noise project, but (very unexpectedly?!) took a stoner/doom metal turn a few years ago. You can listen to JPoD's first full-length album here!

I got really into them last year after becoming a huge Saint Vitus fan. All the The Obsessed albums are good, but I really like the debut. If you don't have Saint Vitus's Born Too Late, you need to pick that one up.

I have 1-2 SV concerts on my computer, but haven't listened to them. I have a ticket to a concert by The Obsessed, thus the newfound interest in them.

I assume you know that Wino was the vocalist in SV for a long time which is why I made the comparison. Born Too Late is probably better than any of The Obsessed records though.
I'm thinking about going to that concert but don't know where I'll be in August.

The Obsessed were great. My only regret is not getting Wino to sign my vest. I don't like asking people for autographs.
