I really want to love that song, but there are a few things that prevent me from it. First, the clean vocals. I don't always hate metalcore clean vocals, but at least 80% of the time I do, and I certainly don't like these. They're a little too emo/angsty for me lol. The symphonics are cool and all, but I hate how they seem to be the only thing that has the melody. The guitar just chugs away endlessly behind it, and it's not even cool, intricate, technical chugging either; it's honestly pretty boring. The only riff that really stuck out to me was the one that they played during the clean vocal parts. I listen to metalcore to get a mood that I can't really get from many other genres: pure energy. If I'm really excited for something, metalcore is what I'll listen to. Black metal can cover almost all other moods for me though. And this song doesn't strike me as energetic. To me, it feels like the symphonics were more of a gimmick to hide the fact that they can't write good riffs. I know, that's what people say about symphonic black, but listen to Grave Declaration and tell me they don't have good riffs.

^How is it? I've been considering picking it up... I listened to one or two songs and they sounded good but didn't quite grab me.

Eh it's not groundbreaking but when I hear really good Christian death metal sometimes I have to have it. I do recommend it if you are in the mood.

I recently bought a copy of the old Akryal demo (EP?) with Christmas money. I also got a copy of the newest Signum Regis release for Christmas. Not typically my style, but I like this album.

Elgibbor - Repent or Perish Hortor - Dios de Dioses Neizbezhnost - Would It Be Reasonable Drottnar - Welterwerk Drottnar - Stratum Aspiration - Incendiarism Propiciatorium - Come and See
Propiciatorium is among the greatest Brazilian bands I've heard, along with Mercy.

The mixing could have been a bit better (the guitars are quiet) and the vocals could use some work, but other than that, I really like this.

^Wow, that's a great haul Barabbas! I have the first three on the list and they're all very good. I LOVE Wovenhand and have all of their albums. Consider The Birds may be their best album; it's absolutely fantastic.
On CMR we did a secret Santa thing and I got Crimson Moonlight - In Depths Of Dreams Unconscious in the mail yesterday. [guitarpro]

I pretty much just got CDs for Christmas, which was fine with me. I haven't been able to listen to everything yet.
Wovenhand gets lots of listens from me. I had Mosaic, the Threshing Floor, and Refractory Obdurate before getting these three. I bought Mosaic for a dollar on a whim, knowing nothing about the band. That was fortuitous. Now they're one of my favorites.
That's a super cool Santa you got paired up with!

Right on! Definitely puck up the rest of Wovenhand's stuff if you can! It's all very good. One that gets a particularly lot of plays from me is The Laughing Stalk. Do you like 16 Horsepower? If you like Wovenhand... I highly recommend 16 HP too. (It's DEE's prior band.)
My latest purchase was My Silent Wake - An Unbroken Threnody. It's probably the best bang for your buck (er, £8 to be specific) you can find...

I got some stuff from Blake recently.
Amelioration - Admin Rights Jesus Wept - Show's Over Demon Hunter - The Triptych Kekal - Acidity
I've actually had The Triptych for probably 10 years now, but I gave that copy to someone. So this was a good opportunity to get another one.

Score! A private seller on Amazon had Paramaecium - Repentance sealed for a somewhat reasonable price so I snagged it! With my rewards credit card, I had some Amazon rewards points so it was only $27 for me! Now I have to wait three months before I return home to listen to it... This is going to be difficult hahaha!

Aspiration - Babel The Autumn League - Concept of Irony Nice! I think you'll really enjoy both of those. They get very regular rotation in my music player! The Sanctifica is kinda cool but it never clicked with me. I don't have the other one. I just bought Pantokrator - Awesome God

The Sanctifica is kinda cool but it never clicked with me. I don't have the other one. I just bought Pantokrator - Awesome God I have been loving Aspiration and listening to it all the time. I wasn't sure about Sanctifica, but I listed to it a few times on Spotify before I bought it. I found that a bunch of the riffs and melodies were getting stuck in my head. Now that I've kept with it, I really like it. There are still a couple of parts that seem to be prog. just for the sake of being prog., but I've really been liking it. I am guilty of CBM heresy, however, since I do not own Spirit of Purity. I'll try! I haven't listened to the other two too much yet, but have enjoyed them.

Oh boy, you gotta get Spirit Of Purity! It's a good'un! Negative B isn't bad by any means and I appreciate that they tried something totally different. I think it's the vocals that just don't do it for me. He sounds off-key or something to me.
The Autumn League's album on the other hand really just clicked with me and it's one of my most frequently listened to albums.
