I think I've seen that one before! Haha what the heck...
Well, tomorrow my girlfriend and I are off to a wedding for an old college buddy of mine. Should be good times; the whole "crew" will be there! I'm looking forward to introducing her to my friends from college.

That's a good sign, my friend, if you're looking forward to introducing your woman to your friends! I bet she has a lot of friends too - I think that's a good sign. I feel the same way about my fiance now, (she has a TON of friends and I love introducing her to people) but I haven't always felt eager to introduce my woman in previous relationships.
My first long term relationship, I was VERY reluctant to introduce her to my friends. ...but keep in mind, I was 23 (and with her for 4 years) and COMPLETELY went for this woman because of her looks.
I mean, she looked great but when she opened her mouth, me and everyone else felt like uuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... ...I got asked so many times why I was with her, by so many friends. I never again tried to be with a girl because of how she looked after that ended.
Another relationship, which was only for a few months, had a decent personality, but I was hesitant to introduce her to friends/family because she smoked A LOT. I mean, ever 45 minutes she needed a cigarette. ...and even being 27 and being an average build, she would be gasping for air just walking across the room. (but keep in mind, she'd already been smoking EVERY DAY for 20 YEARS)
My ex-wife was ok around new people, but tended to put up a "sassy" front. The fact she had no friends whatsoever and a list of enemies the whole time I knew her should have been a red flag to me then. Live and learn fellas.

I got a CDBaby payment for $75 today. Wasn't expecting that. I looked to see why, and there was a lot of iTunes activity in May. They didn't get around to sending May's totals until almost July?
I don't think it was all 1 person, but every album sold at least once (Ankou Awaits and Hguols) and it looks like some people have favorite songs. For Ankou Awaits, "Song of the Dead" on the Oberour Ar Maro album and "Triumphant Return" on Crog Buidhe seem to be player picks.
The sophomore Hguols album "Celestial Powers Intervened To True Supremacy" or CPITTS took the lead in Hguols sales.
Between this and the higher than normal CD sales I've been having, maybe this is God's way of cushioning me getting scammed out of my job?

Nice dude! That's good to hear! And it sounds like you've already sold a handful of Orationem CDs too. Good work! Any news on the job-front?

Thank you! I've put in about 30 job apps/resumes and had 5 first interviews. My strongest lead is something I should hopefully find out about tomorrow afternoon. I'll be spending a lot of time in prayer tonight, in hopes that I'll have something soon!

I'm not sure man. I've got this strange cycle going on. Every 1-3 months, I'll be so tired, I can't hardly stay awake. I ended up leaving work early yesterday because I was falling out at my desk, almost fell asleep driving home... and ended up sleeping 17 hours straight when I got home. I've been so hungry too - eating constantly. I'll definitely go to bed early again tonight. So weird. I did this "cycle" again yesterday. I literally was awake for about 4-5 hours total yesterday and that's all I could stay awake. I'd walk from one side of my house to the other and be so exhausted that I just fell out on the couch and passed out again. My fiance is worried. I was at least awake enough to still enough to apply for a few jobs and I kept my phone right by my head with the loudest/most annoying ring tone I could find - so I could take a call if one of them tried to contact me... I have more energy this morning, but I still feel weird. I don't like self medicating, but I've been to the doctor many times for this and I don't know what else to do. I've got a "pre-workout" formula I've been self medicating with. It has 325mg of caffeine, it has a proprietary blend to increase blood flow (includes L Arginine) and also TESTOSTERONE. I've also got another testosterone supplement I take with it. While that blend certainly does keep me awake, you can't have an up without having a down...

That's so bizarre Thomas. I wonder what causes that???
My back has been killing me. I don't know what I did, but it hurts to bend down even. When I'm still, it's alright. Ugh.
In other news, I'll be flying out to Nebraska this evening to visit my girlfriend who's visiting some people very dear to her from when she lived there years ago. Should be fun!

You... you don't sleep Blake? ._. Well I barely sleep for the weeks that I'm designated as the "oncall" infrastructure tech at my job. I work 8-5, then when I go to bed my company cell usually rings all night with ticket escalations for servers, firewalls, routers going down etc. Like last night I got woke up about replacing a bad router in missouri, then again an hour later to address a potential attack attempt on one of our firewalls. Earlier this week I was up most the night because Microsoft pushed a security patch for Exchange Server 2013 which broke email for 7 of our clients. So I had to fix all 7 exchange servers before the clients opened for business and realized their email was broken. Pair this with a toddler waking up at any given time in the night and it usually equals little to no sleep. Luckily I only have to do this every month and a half for one week

I knew you were on call for you job, but I didn't realize that people called you regularly during the night. Good grief, you probably dread the night before your week on. That's so bizarre Thomas. I wonder what causes that??? You know what's crazy? I looked for home remedies for lack of energy and I was literally doing EVERYTHING except one thing. Taking an iron supplement. If someone's iron is too low, they can't get enough oxygen in their blood and it really saps their strength. I've been taking a slow release OTC iron supplement the past few days and I haven't had this much energy in a long time! My back has been killing me. I don't know what I did, but it hurts to bend down even. When I'm still, it's alright. Ugh. I know quite a bit about managing (lower) back pain without being drugged up. I got scoliosis (curvature of the spine) from my mother, and my dad has had two back surgeries and has been diagnosed with "an unusually narrow spinal column". Something we believe is hereditary because my brother and I have both had issues with our backs. ...not recently though. Just yesterday at the gym, I was doing sets of 10 with 275lbs on free-weight squats and my back is fine. I had a doctor tell me I need to exercise my back to prevent injury. For years, I took my father's advise and was "very careful". Couple that with sitting at a computer for most of my adult career and I had a weak back that would get hurt. I started doing upper and lower back exercises and not only have amassed great strength rather quickly, but I haven't had any significant injuries since December of last year. I CONSTANTLY have to stretch my hamstrings (like 3-4 times a day) because they tighten up a lot when I lift/drum, and if they're too tight, it pulls on my lower back.... so I stretch, stretch, stretch, stretch all the time. Most of the time, I do tend to hobble around though. Not because I'm hurt, but because I lift way more than the average person. I mentioned in another thread how much I do for lat pulldowns. Lately, I've been focusing on rows. For those of you who don't know what kind of workout that is, its explained in this 2 ½ minute video. ...except in that video, he's using a 40lb dumbbell. I use a 140lb dumbbell (usually 3 sets of 5 reps) and well. ...my lifts are certainly more dramatic.

And thankfully as of 8:00am this morning I am no longer oncall. Saturday morning I spent the first 5 hours of the day working on one escalation. Now another month and a half of freedom

Thanks Thomas! I do need to do more physical activity. Often on the weekends I'll go for a hike and I do walk for about an hour after work pretty often too. I do some weights, situps, or pushups in the mornings too but it's not enough... I also desperately need a new bed; I think that contributes to much of my pain. In other news, I got to see fireflies for the first time in my life! That was cool. I visited my girlfriend's "American family" for the 4th in Nebraska as I mentioned above. [She came to the US from Slovakia as a foreign exchange student when she was 16 and this family really took her in as their own.] They're such wonderful, genuine, welcoming, and godly good folks. We had a great time but now she's in Chicago for a month and then back to Barcelona where she's studying to get her PhD in Linguistics. We're not sure when we'll see each other again... Yay for Skype dates...

I think I've figured out why most people think that CBM is a contradiction. They don't understand the difference between physical and spiritual darkness, or they don't think that the two can be separate.
It's probably safe to assume that most, if not all of us have some sort of fascination with physical darkness. If we didn't, then we probably wouldn't enjoy this kind of music. For example, if I had the choice to walk through a dark forest or on a sunny beach, I'd choose the forest without a second thought. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case for a lot of others here too. Person reading this: do you prefer the beach or the forest?
A fascination with physical darkness does not necessarily include a fascination with spiritual darkness (sin and evil). Although the two go together frequently (take a look at the Satanic black metal scene), they can be separate, as CBM proves. Just because I prefer rainy, overcast days over sunny, cloudless days doesn't mean that I'm an evildoer.
Just something that I've been thinking about. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I would choose the dark forest anytime. No doubt about that. My favourite time of the year is the late autumn. When the air is getting colder, and the nature around my is dying and rotting. Hehe. So where goes the line between the physical and spiritual darkness? or perhaps mental darkness? Hard to say, but it is a interesting topic.

I also like dark chocolate. People just have a preconceived notion of what is evil, some of it may be because of what movies and media has illustrated to us. I've had many people tell me they think skulls are evil and christian bands shouldnt use skulls. This is a logic I have never understood. How is a skull evil? If I had some weird medical condition that somewhow allowed me to live with no skin or muscle and I was just a skeleton would that mean I am evil now?
We all have a skull so we are all doomed

Thanks man! We are really happy together. I've never met a better woman. That's not to say that our relationship is perfect. The only problems we've had are high class problems. Sorry to hear that your relationship is long distance. I've done that. That was almost a year of my first marriage, and ultimately the reason it ended. I can't do it anymore, with anyone. Luckily, I won't have to considering that my fiance is family oriented and firmly planted in the area. I hope there will be a time where you and her can be together. I'm assuming you guys have discussed your future?

She sounds like a class-act indeed! Right on dude. Having a good woman in one's life is a pretty dang good thing. [shoppingcart] [I'm not sure why I chose this emoticon, but hey, it was there.] Do you guys have a date and location set yet?
Yeah, the long distance thing isn't fun. Seeing her on Skype is great... and excruciating at the same time. She's pretty amazing though and definitely worth it. I think we're both old/experienced enough that we have a pretty good idea of what we want in our respective spouses ultimately, and it seems we've found it in each other. Yup, we've been discussing future. The hardest part isn't necessarily the distance - because we're both willing to eventually move - but visa stuff. Ultimately, she'd like to be here (and I want that too). But she's not a citizen and even with a marriage certificate, it's a ton of bureaucracy and even more money. So that's kinda demoralizing. I'm confident though that we can do it; it just won't be easy or particularly fun...

I like it too - it has a good "play" aspect of two "people" together. Regarding the date, I'm sure you probably can't see the record that I'm holding in the avatar - but you'll be able to see the date below. Its getting closer! We're getting married in a church in her family's home town and everything is DONE except all the music for the wedding/reception. ...and yes, we're having black metal and country music for the reception/wedding. HAHA!!!

In other news, I got to see fireflies for the first time in my life! That was cool. That's something I've taken for granted. There's fireflies around where I live every summer for my entire life. (my family has never called them that though - we always called them "Lightning Bugs". I used to collect and play with them as a kid...) ...but I should get out and do one of my screened-in-back-porch meditations where I watch them. Currently, I've got one stuck in my downstairs bathroom window. I can't get her out but she's wedged in the storm window and just moves around and blinks. (yes its her because I know the males fly around and blink while the females blink on the ground.) [bees]

Wow, August 1st is coming up quick! Right on dude. You two look very happy. And I expect no less from you to have a black metal wedding. [darkness1] So are you going to alternate between black metal and country songs at the reception? Hahaha I'm picturing you doing the groom/mother dance to black metal. Epic.
I was wondering if that's a thing: out there they called them lightning bugs too. I had only ever heard "fireflies" but then again, I'm from California so what do I know! Any luck on getting that one out of your window?
