When that black metal wail breaks through the standard black metal vocals, it magnifies the anguish by like a million. Like 1:42 of this track. (but listen to the whole thing - its awesome and has DSBM elements)
I think its a moderation thing with me. If that's the only vocal style (like Silencer/Weakling), I can't get into it. I do think the music for Silencer is TOP NOTCH DSBM by the way.

Fuck yeah!!! This is where I will make my home for the next few days. I'm gonna spam this thing so much!
Starting on sunday/Monday I will make a list of some freaking awesome bands. And new stuff too since y'all covered the basics already.
This is my favorite genre of music and captures my essense with its music, aesthetic, and problems, and pain.

If you also like symphonic black metal check out they're EP. It's honestly the best symphonic black metal band that I've heard. I don't know why they went depressive

okay this one belongs here more than the atmospheric bm thread but oh well The drums need some reverb or something to make them fit better with the overall soundscape, but other than that this is going to be a perfect album unreqvited.bandcamp.com/album/disquiet

Seriously? I was just about to post that band! Apparently they're supposed to be post-DSBM.
Its ok, but a bit slow. (I'm not talking tempo, I mean this feels more like an ambient album with a little black)

I followed a few Psychonaut4 videos around from one you posted earlier and actually heard some of this album already. It was pretty solid from what I listened to!

I like this. Do you happen to know if it is a Christian project? No worries either way. Also, does Betheos Abshalom have any way we can pay for his albums?

(The guy from Deafened also plays in Appalachian Leprosy.) Edit: Betheos Abshalom responded to my message. I was right, he only has them on Mediafire and 4shared. He doesn't want to sell his music right now.

This song is almost giving me chills. The vocals are so perfect in every single way. There is almost no better technique of vocal execution in this style. Every inflection so pure and the dynamic flow fits the flux and flow of the song. Man there is nothing bad I can say about this song it is perfect in pretty much every way.

I don't really care for the clean vocals during the louder/harsher sections. They're fine during the quieter sections, but when the person's just yelling like that, it just sounds to me like they can't scream properly. A lot of cool ideas going on here, though, for sure.

Sadness - LeaveCW posted a song from this in another thread. It's that kind of melancholic that I really like - sad, but not overwhelmingly so. It's still ... "artistic", I guess one could say?

Empty Life - The Cold Universe. Doesn't really fit into "post-black" or "DSBM", it's kind of a mix of both. I like it, though. Imo the vocals are a bit abrasive for what the style calls for, but enjoyable (in a depressive black metal sense) nonetheless.
