So a friend at work is organizing a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. It will be a handful of first timers (none of us have played before). I've got a mini figure ordered from reapermini.com and a basic acrylic paint set ordered from Amazon. Anyone have experience painting mini figures and could offer a few pointers for someone starting out? I'm not wanting to spend a fortune so I'm pretty much sticking with basic acrylic paint and cheap nylon brushes. Thanks in advance.

There was talk in a friend group to start an amateur campaign together earlier this year.
Send pics of your figure, bro!

I would be more inclined to do something like this, if it involved my interest.
D&D is cool. I played it back in the day. ...but I'm not passionate enough about it to task myself to paint little statues.
Now, if there were Ire Blood Memory figures..... I would pain the eff out of those after I wipe the drool off my chin. XD
