I would like to publicly give thanks and praise to our Almighty Creator because my family survived a weekend camping together. My kids didn't kill each other, and my wife & I didn't kill them. No major arguments, and although the weather was pretty miserable at times, we all had a pretty enjoyable weekend. This is a major achievement for us. We've only been a family for 3 years, and it's only now really beginning to feel like a FAMILY.
Disclaimer: I hate camping. My wife loves it. Her kids love it. My kids are starting to like it. I go because I love my wife and i want to be a Godly husband. I fail at that. A lot. But I don't stop trying.
What have you been thankful for recently? How is God active in your life?

AWESOME! Praise God -- that is really, really cool. Thank yoy for sharing Keep up the good pursuits. God's been bringing me closer to Him. I spent an extended amount of time in prayer a few days ago, which I haven't done in ages, and it was lovely.

God's been bringing me closer to Him. I spent an extended amount of time in prayer a few days ago, which I haven't done in ages, and it was lovely. That's something I really struggle with. Juggling a job and the demands of raising 4 teenagers (and a new puppy!) doesn't leave a whole lot of time for anything else. For a long time, I've tried to keep the habit of praying and just meditating right when I wake up, before I get out of bed. Start the day off right, you know? The past few months, I've been so exhausted, I keep hitting snooze, or if I try to pray, I fall back asleep, or I can't keep my thoughts focused and coherent enough to pray. I know that's really the only quiet time I will get to myself all day, so I will continue to keep trying to make it count.

Mmm, I feel you, bro. How's the opportunity to read the Word -- also pretty constrained by time demands?

Mmm, I feel you, bro. How's the opportunity to read the Word -- also pretty constrained by time demands? Yes. If I'm lucky, I might get an hour on a Sunday afternoon to go sit outside and have a cigar and read by myself. I have a 40min commute to work, so I listen to sermons online and the Streetlights Bible app from Humble Beast is surprisingly good too.

Mmm, word. Yeah, Street Hymns is pretty sweet. It still is unfortunate that dedicated alone time (also alone from other people driving on their way to work ha) is tough to come by. I'll endeavor to ne praying for that.

I want to thank God for not letting me go to far from Him, and also I want to thank God for finally giving me internet in my new home. Being here 1 month without internet wasn´t easy and the fact that my car got hit by a dude with a bulldozer(small-one) didn´t help my well being at all. At least now I can talk with my people
