Meaning iTunes, Spotify, and such? I do not have a problem with that, as long as it is available on Bandcamp. ^ I agree. EDIT: Since we're on a new page, this is the post that Kai and I were replying to: Major Digital Distribution. Yay or Nay? I need to know ASAP.

I know I don't have much of a say but in keeping with the spirit of the original idea of these comps I'd say no to distribution, just stick with Bandcamp. These comps are kind of meant to be hidden gems.

Major Digital Distribution. Yay or Nay? I need to know ASAP. No real opinion one way or the other. Even if available on every major digital platform out there, we’re still gonna be just about as “underground” as you can get.

I don’t understand. The purpose in general for a compilation is to get exposure and possibly attention leading to deals, interviews, etc. I also understand bands not wanting to give away digital rights especially when no compensation has been offered or discussed.
I believe the first comp was to celebrate the anniversary of The Blackest Light forum which I thought was a fantastic idea. Is that what the purpose still is?
I think interest has waned because the quality has waned. I bought the 2nd CD and there were a few stand out tracks, a couple ok, and some not so great. Perhaps a little more quality control. Maybe less bands but give them two tracks. Just a thought, not my comp but just saying.
I also would’ve contributed a track but thought the date was in stone. Either way I will buy a copy as to support.
I am hoping there will be a No 4 but am also hoping my thoughts do not fall on deaf ears.

I also would’ve contributed a track but thought the date was in stone. You do music? I think interest has waned because the quality has waned. I understand this idea in theory, but I'm not sure if I agree with it in this case -- sure, we didn't have the same REALLY HEAVY HITTERS (Ohen and IHS, for example) like we had on the first one, but I personally feel like we had a solid lineup for the second one as well. I guess I could start with my own project: How do you think the Bozkath tracks compare in Volumes 1 and 2? Like obviously it's too late to change anything on the song I submitted for Volume 3, but in general, maybe your feedback can help a bit.

I asked Duane, he's still not even sure right now. We submitted the music, lyrics and the cover art. That's a few ingredients to the recipe of a CD. Layout takes time. No CD is pro-pressed immediately at a facility, there's always a queue. That takes time. Sorry. I wish I had an ETA. If I knew, it would take me a minute to travel this thread to share that info.

Thank you Thomas. I am well aware of the mechanisms of CD production. I was just going off of what you stated.
Please let us know when you get more info
Thank you again

Great!
My suggestion is that for a next volume we should try not to hold on to the annual year limit but consider to take more time we need when necessary. And after then talk about a new one.

Duane has had a series of tragedies that are preoccupying him.
I haven't been able to set aside my heart to ask him for an update...

I wondered.
Do participating artists get a free copy? Not sure if I filed an address or something.

I can drop some beats if anyone wants to rap over them. And I'm only half joking. I do have some lofi (of course) hip-hop ideas.

still waiting on TBL to put together a rap mixtape I am (apparently?) decent at writing rap lyrics. I have considered doing a bit of rap / hip-hop / whatever!
