Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations regarding news feeds? (These show up below the main banner, but above the forum sections)
I just updated it to include something besides talking about my own music. [alien] Currently, here's what the news feed is cycling:
I'm open to using these for anything, but to me, it makes the most sense to mention specific sections of the forum, specific threads or information on new Christian black metal releases. I can put an unlimited number amount of these announcements
Please provide feedback!

Have we ever had a real-time conversation in the Shoutbox? I don't think we have. This is something that needs to happen...

Probably going to be difficult to find meeting times that work for everyone because I am sure many of us keep different schedules and even live in different time zones.
I think what you have on the news feed right now looks great, Thomas. You don't want TOO many messages for it to cycle through because you want people to know the important stuff!

If it works well (you can see old messages and more importantly, who's currently in it) ... I might nix the shoutbox.

I like the shoutbox! In my experience... the chat option in forums is never used unless it's a super massive forum with a ton of people. I like being able to talk to folks real-time OR just mention something and have someone respond to it later. I guess it's not too different for regular threads, but overall I think it's fun nonetheless.
I think the newsfeed stuff you propositioned is good. We can add to it but that's a great start.

Ok does this happen to anyone else? For some reason the news feed is the last to load (and I have decent internet speed...) so once it loads, it shifts the rest of the page down one line. My internet loads at about the same speed that I can move my mouse to the thread I want to click on and click right as it shifts down. So I end up oftentimes clicking on the wrong thread (in most cases the sticky'd thread so of the ~135 views, probably 100 are mine hahahaha). Am I the only one?

But I know how frustrating that kind of thing can be - I'm just adding my input in case it helps isolate the problem somehow. Edit: I'm using Firefox if that helps.

Actually, this does happen to me sometimes. I wonder if the forum server strictly limits bandwidth. Might explain it.

After thought: I think I've only noticed it on my phone (Galaxy S3).

What browser are you using, chief? I uses Firefox too. It's not a big deal and CERTAINLY not worth changing anything. I was just curious if others had this too. (And to let you know that not nearly as many people are reading the sticky'd thread about Mike as it looks haha.)
