Kai! How did you find these guys?
I'm really particular about my DSBM and these guys NAILED it! Totally blown away by their sound - that "Gnaw Their Tongues" style production totally leaves me for dead!
Do you have more information on these guys? Are you still going to work with them?

Glad you like the EP, Tom! It's a one man project from the UK and as far as I remember I simply stumbled across a tune on Facebook. The raw sound reminded me of Woods Of Desolation. Currently he's working on a new EP; we haven't talked about another release on No Sleep, but I'd be willing to put it out again. Let's see...

The tape release is only 16 so... you've got a good point. I'd be happy with 1 new song, but happiest with a full album epic.

I really dig this sound. Really. I am firm about lyrics in extreme metal as a personal choice so who is the closest band with Christian lyrics to this sound?

Hungry Vultures is comparable, but the music generally seems to be less "grand" in scope - youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKkUrbFonSRH_qW0bu3xH1aQs3VKTDIqA Usynlig Tumult are pretty close! - youtube.com/watch?v=kPtRbq4mcD0 Torches in the Void would be a good recommendation - torchesinthevoid.bandcamp.com/ ... You might also like Dormant and Kvaldar but they're not really the same thing. Edit: There might also be something by Betheos Abshalom you might like, but he has a lot of music... Here are a couple playlists to give you a general idea.

Thanks for the well thought out reply. You mentioned a couple bands I'm not familiar with so I will check them out at home later. Thanks dude!

I love Dormant, but I don't really think it's all that similar to Sorrow Plagues if I may be honest.

Also, that Kvaldar song is amazing. I've never heard of this project before. I did a bit of research and it seems that he hasn't released anything yet, despite having made music for several years.
He posted a couple of teasers on his Facebook page. This is one of them:
What an awesome sound. I hope that this stuff gets released eventually.

Yeah that Kvaldar isn't bad. I have Usynlig and Dormant and Torches isn't doing it for me. HOWEVER the sample I found on YouTube of Hungry Vultures is just what I'm looking for! Sampled it in the bathroom at work, I couldn't wait LOL! Know where to get a copy? I was going to just contact the band but can't even find their Facebook.

It was the one place I didn't check because they don't usually have a lot of Brazilian titles. Thanks dude, it's ordered.

Just checked out Hungry Vultures and have to admit that I wouldn't have thought of that Sorrow Plagues-sound, which definitely seems to be influenced by Woods of Desolation a lot, at all (btw, I don't think that Torches can be compared to it, too). Do you guys know if Hungry Vultures is recorded with real guitars? Maybe it's just due to Youtube, but it reminded me of midi-guitar-sounds.

Yeah idk it may not be exact but I liked what I heard, sounded post black metal which is what I was looking for so I ordered but I did only get to sample one song so we will see.

Well, after listening to Hungry Vultures I can say it doesn't sound like Sorrow Plagues really but I especially like the last few tracks as they are the more atmospheric tracks on the album. It's worth owning for the novelty of the aforementioned keytars (keyboard guitars).

Just read on Metal Archives that it's the same guy as in Dark Woods so I guess he's using these keyboard-guitars all the time. Do you know Dark Woods, btw?

Yes but don't own any just yet. I own that "Destroying..." album. Especially if you're into his atmospheric tunes, Dark Woods CDs will be a good investment, haha.

You know what I just realized? Dark Procession sounds a little like Sorrow Plagues. I've had it on my wantlist on Discogs and eBay for a while now and no luck.

I own Dark Woods' first album (In the Protection of the Strong Tower) and it's pretty good. I personally like it more than Hungry Vultures.
Dark Procession is alright. I have their split with Flaskavsae (Requiem IV) and their stuff is decent. I've heard a couple of songs from their newest album (Eternal Autumn Solitude) though I'm not sure if it's Christian anymore (a lot of the E.E.E. bands left the faith at the same time around 2009 or 2010, and that album came out in 2011, still on E.E.E.).

I have Dark Procession's first album Ghost Echoes if anyone wants to buy it... It's super rare. I think 50 copies were made.
