I've made a few mentions/hints previously on this forum. The past two weeks, I've taken a turn for the worse.
I'm not entirely sure what the issue is, but I certainly know what the symptoms are. The primary issue is gastro-intestinal and its really effecting my quality of living as 20 minutes is about all I can go without a bathroom trip. I also think this has something to do with this major fatigue I've been experiencing.
The last 3 days, I had a hard time staying awake even 8 hours and was sleeping a total of 14 to 17 hours a day. ...I also had little to no strength - even my ability to speak was weakened/effected.
I've got an appointment with a specialist scheduled, but they can't see me until next month. Work is brow beating me about excessive break - even though I don't take my scheduled breaks, the excessive bathroom trips put me past my allowed break time.
Prayers would be appreciated.
Thank you,

Prayers coming your way brother. Do they think it's some sort of infection causing the excessive sleepiness? I know sleep apnea can cause that but doesn't affect your GI tract. Thyroid can also affect energy level. Hope they can figure it out but remember Who your Healer is!

I've never had the gut stuff professionally addressed. The three times before when I went to the local bandaid station because I had zero energy, they said my levels were fine and I had "vertigo". (a fancy word for being dizzy - one doctor said the rocks in my head were loose and causing this. Here take this anti-dizzy pill that makes you even more tired.)
I'll keep everyone posted, but I'm going to try to get in somewhere ASAP. I'm just glad to be married to an RN because she speaks the lingo and gets results much better than I do.

Will do.
So I found out from my mom that my grandmother passing away had to do with suspected colon cancer (I thought it was a ruptured ulcer) and she had some of the same symptoms for years that I'm having now. ....which is extremely fun, I can't tell you how fun this is. [zombiehit]
Yeah, trying to get this looked at ASAP.

The symptoms persist for my gut. Today in particular was rough. I've tried avoiding gluten, (since my mom has celiacs), I tried not eating at all ...and then eating whatever I want.
No difference in symptoms whatsoever.
My first doctor's appointment is Thursday. I'm hoping to know a little more after then.
Thanks for the prayer and concern. I appreciate it.

AH!!! Forgot to update this! The first time was just basically just giving the docs all the information and a general checkup, though I did get a shot.
I've got a couple visit in a couple weeks to do FULL bloodwork. (check EVERYTHING) From there, consultation and colonoscopy.
I've made peace with it - the colonoscopy is going to happen. Without that invasive procedure, they're speculating that its either Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's. My money is on the UC because Crohn's people are generally anemic. I'm definitely not anemic.
Nothing screamed "cancer" at them, so that's good.
The best part, I've got a work excuse from the doctor. I never take breaks because they just slow down my shift, but I was over on my break time because of how many bathroom trips I was taking.
I really appreciate the genuine concern, prayers and thoughts guys!

Oh, I forgot to mention one thing. Another reason for the full bloodwork has to do with the chronic fatigue that shows up probably once a month.
The doc thought it could be sleep apnea. I was always under the impression that sleep apnea was what great big fat people had and they always keep waking up because their relaxed weight prevents them from breathing. Apparently I'm completely wrong for thinking that and it could be just shallow or infrequent breathing and most people aren't even aware they have it - aka not waking up.

Please continue with the prayers. Today was really rough. I was too dizzy to drive to work. My wife drove me to get full labs done and there's an element of anemia in my blood.
...looks like Crohn's isn't ruled out.
I've not only been able to stay upright much without wobbling, but I have zero energy. Even an energy drink after a week with no caffeine did NOTHING.
Sorry folks. I'll be posting more when I feel better.

Thanks Kerrick! I'm feeling better today. The doctor said to start a 325mg suppliment of Iron.
Sounds like a lot, but I hope it will help...

I am just now reading through this thread. I'm sorry to hear you are going through this, I hope everything goes well. A coworker/friend of mine has a potassium deficiency somehow connected to her epilepsy. She gets really dizzy and disoriented when her potassium is low. She usually drinks a powerade to counteract it.

Today's appointment went as well as it could have. They made it the consultation for my colonoscopy and endoscopy. Monday.
Work has been great regarding my issue - Tuesday, there was a plumbing issue and the bathrooms had to be shut down. Normally leaving early costs attendance points, but HR worked quick and let me out of there with no consequence since running to the gas station across the street use the restroom wasn't a realistic option for me. ...both in frequency and intensity.
I'll miss a few days work next week and I'll probably be a bit loopy Monday. (I've never been put under before)

Sounds like they are at least working you in pretty quickly. Doctors are usually very busy this time of year because everyone is rushing to get their medical things done before insurance deductibles reset at the first of the year.
You are in my prayers bro.

Today's no food before the procedure is going well. I think the feast I ate last night in combination of the jello, popsicles, broth and prayer today is helping with not eating solid food.
I do my first round of drinking the "evacuation kit" tonight... then again very early next morning. I've heard enough stories from other people's experiences to ultimately not be too worried about the procedure itself.
I'm more anxious about being put under (I've never been anesthetized before) and what the test results will be. My opinion, the only thing worse than them finding something seriously wrong...
...is them not finding anything wrong at all, despite the extreme symptoms I'm having.

Getting anesthetized isn't too bad. I was put under when I got my wisdom teeth taken out and everything was fine. Not much to worry about there.
I'll be praying for you. I hope everything goes well.

Thanks man. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
After drinking my evacuation kit at 6pm and pretending to be a rocket for 2 hours, I think my butt is finally starting to calm down.

Groggy but awake. Procedure wasn't bad at all.
I have rectal cancer.
Next, we need to find out if it's spread, and if it hasn't, I need surgery. If it has spread, I need chemotherapy.
I will fight this. Prayers please.
