Seen any good flicks lately? Any bad ones? Excited about an upcoming movie? Post it here!
I'll probably see Krampus tonight. I think it looks like a lot of fun.

Nice! Looks like I probably won't see Krampus tonight after all so definitely let me know how it is! I hope to see it soon. The main actor is from my home town too which is cool!
I remember seeing a trailer for Cannibal some time ago. It looked pretty decent.

My wife and I watched Krampus today! Its pretty good. I'd say Crimson Peak was better, but still a good movie. There is ZERO mention of Christ/Christianity, but there's actually very little mention of Santa either (except in relation to Krampus). The emphasis is based on when Christmas is no longer about "giving" (the movie used the word "sacrifice" several times) and is more about "taking" (of course the movie starts out with a Black Friday Brawl), that's when the anti-Santa (Krampus) comes and... well... Takes. People. The first time we see Krampus in the movie was surprisingly (and delightfully) horrifying. The ending started to piss me off, but then it smoothed out to be just fine. Some of the henchmen are "meh", but it doesn't ruin the movie.

I'll go ahead and mentioned the elephant in the room. I'm seeing Star Wars next week. I've never been the hugest fan in the world, but I'm still pretty excited.

Not sure how it's an "elephant in the room", but here, I'll take the thread one step further: the only movies I've seen in 2015 are My Little Pony movies - "Equestria Girls" and "Rainbow Rocks". And I enjoyed both of them.

One of the guys from Angelrage worked on the movie Krampus Whoa! I'd... actually never heard of Angelrage before. Having trouble finding more information about this? The Angelrage band members use stage names. Google shows nothing in a "angelrage krampus movie" search. Who does what in the movie? I'll go ahead and mentioned the elephant in the room. I'm seeing Star Wars next week. I've never been the hugest fan in the world, but I'm still pretty excited. I tolerate Star Wars at best, my brother likes it more than I do. I wouldn't mind seeing it but... and I hate to say this... I'm avoiding seeing it because I'm worried there will be a bunch of nerds in costume in the theater. That was horrible of me to say wasn't it?

Some of the henchmen are "meh", but it doesn't ruin the movie. Veronika and I watched it yesterday before church. She thought it was quite stupid while I enjoyed it, though was a bit disappointed. I thought the first 2/3 of the movie were just fantastic. It was clever, cynical, goofy, creepy, and whatever other adjectives would describe a fun horror-comedy. But then the final ~third of the flick seemed to get kinda lazy. The characters started making pretty illogical decisions and much of that section of the movie seemed rather rushed. And also the ending left some to be desired IMO... Overall, I enjoyed it and would passively recommend it. (I do still really want to watch Crimson Peak.)

I watched The Revenant on Friday. It was pretty good! I'd definitely recommend it. It's pretty violent though so be forewarned. Great acting, script, characters, and visuals. My only complaints are that it was a bit longer than necessary and that the CG animals looked pretty phony/fake which took away from the gritty nature of the scenes IMO.

I watched this Aussie movie last night after my wife went to work. Its meant to be a "gory comedy" and while I didn't think it was that hilarious (though parts were definitely adequately gory) it wasn't a bad movie. Watched this movie last night too and I liked it better than the one above. The movie wasn't in English (never seen a Danish speaking movie before) and was a decent werewolf-ish flick. (They weren't actually werewolves, more like these women would turn into a violent Sabertooth-from-Marvel type beasts if they weren't heavily sedated and regularly shaved)

I watched the trailers for those and they look entertaining! The main guy from 100 BA was in the TV show Justified which I enjoyed.

I forgot to add that I watched Inside Out the other day with my girlfriend and parents. She really wanted to watch it. It was cute and had some clever moments, but I didn't think worth all the hype. Then again, that kind of flick isn't really my thing.

No secret I love horror movies. I watched this for the cheese and luckily, the T&A was minimal, the gore was awesomely excessive and it was delightfully cheesy. Sometimes the horror in these surprises even me. Like them throwing the little dog as a distraction to get away. Most movies would only insinuate the monster getting the dog. This one graphically depicted a brutal slaying of a small innocent animal. (in total B-Horror budget splendor of course) Same with a "zombeaver" busting through a door and utterly destroying this dude's manhood. It was insane! Like depicted as graphically as what happened towards the end of Cannibal Holocaust. HAHA!!! I love it!

I watched Goodnight Mommy last night. It's a German indie suspense/drama/horror in which the single mother of two twin boys (maybe 11 years old?) returns home after a facial reconstructive surgery (covered with bandages). The boys begin suspecting that she is indeed not their mother... The first two thirds of the movie were really great but the final ~third got a little too dark/gross for me and the "twist" was rather generic IMO. Overall I probably wouldn't recommend it but it wasn't terrible.

The Forbidden Room. Weirdest movie ever. Not really sick or dirty or funny or scary. Like half silent movie with really trippy cinematography. It's more like a 2 hour collection of two minute semi-horror stories than a movie. It makes no sense.
One minute, it's breathing pancakes for oxygen when a lumberjack breaks into their submarine, next a girl is a bandit wolf who turns into a flower girl singing and headbanging about Aswang, the jungle vampire. Then it gets really weird...
Loved it.

Thomas, have you seen Bone Tomahawk? I watched it last weekend and really liked it a lot. I think you would too. It's a horror/western but is more focused on character development than gore (though there is gore...). It's very well cast, acted, and written. I definitely recommend!

I watched The Invitation the other day. I thought it was pretty good but not great. The plot was decent and I really appreciate that the trailer really gives no spoilers as to what the movie is really about, though it gives a good idea of its general feel/style. Directing was decent and the acting ok, but the dialogue I thought was the weak link. The first 2/3 of the film is getting to know the characters (though they're all pretty thinly written IMO) and instilling a sense of impending dread/paranoia. Veronika and I both thought the last 1/3 was much better and quite suspenseful. It'd be rated R for language, very brief (and sorta hidden in shadows) nudity, and some violence. It's a decent rental. We got tickets for 2.90 EUR which was worth it to us.

Tried watching that new Hulu exclusive series called "The Path". The characters are all self centered jerks that pork and blow each other.
If I wanted to watch that crap I'd be a Grey's Anatomy fan. *rimshot*

Deathgasm on Netflix. This movie is metal folks. Take Waynes World except the dudes aren't rockin, they're ridiculous black metal posing in the woods and trying to impress girls with their music (lol reaction when this one blonde is given a Cattle Decapitation CD) ...and then turn 180 and make the last half of the movie a zombie demon slasher. That's a decent description of Deathgasm. Not bad, would watch again.

While in Europe, Veronika and I watched the Fargo series and it is really good! Season two started out a little awkwardly I felt, but after a few episodes it found itself and I thought was excellent, though I think season 1 is a bit better. I am excited for season three!
We also watched Housebound which I really enjoyed a lot (Veronika had already seen it). What a fun movie! It's a somewhat comedic horror film about a woman who's on house arrest and it would seem the house is haunted... It is very well written and has fun characters.
Thomas, still haven't seen Bone Tomahawk yet?
The Lobster is playing at a local theater and I've been really wanting to watch it for like a year! Veronika wants to see it too though and it'll probably be out of theaters by the time she arrives...
Did anyone see 13 Hours? I wanted to see it but it was only in theaters for about a week haha.

Bone Tomahawk never came back to Netflix!

Yeah I loved how they took multiple horror tropes and combined them together, leading the viewer to think X and then Y and then... Very well done!
Ah dangit Netflix, get your act together!
