Kerrick, I think you and I are the only ones that watch TV or movies. It'd appear that way...

Movies, yeah. I generally don't watch movies. Maybe one a year. Maybe.
TV, I only watch a few TV shows and two of them are just game shows, so, not much to talk about.

Nope. I saw advertisements for it, but not the show itself. I'll have to try it sometime!

This movie is so good. Awesome horror. Its a Turkish film, so there's no spoken English, but it does an awesome job in progressing from normal to some intense gore and WTF moments.

I watched the trailer for it. Dang that looks pretty gnarly... maybe a bit too gruesome for my tastes.

Thomas Eversole, have you seen this one? It's been on my watchlist for a while now but I still haven't gotten around to seeing it.

^I've heard that it was surprisingly good.
Veronika had never seen Hot Fuzz before so we watched that last night. That is such a great movie. There are so many little subtleties to it and every time I see it, I pick up on more. It's my favorite of theirs though I haven't watched Shaun Of The Dead for years (but hope to remedy that soon...).

Shaun of the Dead is a wonderful movie. Haven't seen Hot Fuzz myself, but I'm all about zombie flicks...

Oh dude you gotta watch Hot Fuzz! It's not a zombie movie but it's got that same style and humor (and writer/director and actors) as Shaun. I'd recommend not watching any trailers or anything and just rent (or buy) it. It's so good! The third in their "trilogy" is called The World's End which is really great too. Again, don't watch the trailers; they give away too much. If you like Shaun Of The Dead, you'll definitely like those too.

I watched The Guest last night. It was a pretty incredibly stupid movie... I'm surprised it got relatively high ratings. The premise was decent until... they cut to the super secret government/military head-honchos' board room discussing their evil plans, etc. For the most part the actors did an alright job with the terrible script they were given. I liked the pacing and style of it though. The whole thing felt like a made-for-TV teenybopper flick, not the legitimate thriller/horror movie it tried to be. It could have possibly succeeded had it gone the self-aware route (like Scream, The Cabin In The Woods, etc.) and taken itself a little less seriously, though that's pretty tired/cliche these days too. Overall, I would not recommend.

Well hey just found this thread.
I'm currently watching friends again for the second time. On season 4.
As far as movies I just saw imperium and absolutely loved it and may want to buy a copy. I enjoyed the depiction of the main character even though they don't get too.deep into his character development. The movie did however break down the majority of nazi groups in America and explaining why they are Nazis. It was an excellent film.
And will be watching Mr. Church tonight

Watched "The Confessions of Thomas Quick" on Netflix. Twice.
This documentary on "Sweden's Hannibal Lecter" is just packed full of crazy details. It's intense, like maybe even more brutal than Chikatilo's story. (He was Russia's "Hannibal Lecter")

I watched Hacksaw Ridge last night. Overall I thought it was quite good. If I were to nitpick, I think the romance part of the movie was too corny/Hollywood and seemed forced. Also, the casting choice for the main guy probably wasn't the best. Once they got to Japan and bullets started flying, he did great. But the family and especially romance part he just seemed too quirky and weird and I had a difficult time relating to him or believing that people would interact like that. But from what I've read, the movie did a great job of sticking to the facts when it came to the heroic acts and such (which were pretty dang heroic...). Wow this movie is pretty intense though: very violent and not for the feint of heart. I recommend it.

This weekend I introduced Veronika to 28 Days Later which she really liked (though was quite scared in a few parts!). It's one of my favorite movies and I've seen it a million times.

You serious?!? What kind of a horror-buff are you! [darkness1] Aww man, it is really really good. Might be more drama than you'd like - don't expect a pure-horror film. It's not a soap-opera like The Walking Dead either. But it is soooooooooo well done.
It's *kind of* a zombie flick. They're technically "infected" (with "rage"). It totally changed the way zombie movies are made (i.e. running zombies...). Don't watch any trailers, just watch it! It's in my top five favorite movies.

LOL. Music isn't the only entertainment where I miss key releases.
I vaguely remember trailers I'd seen. It seemed interesting, but not enough for me to dive right into it.
The zombie movies I like are usually of the B variety, excessively gory and gore based humor. Can't say any of the zombie movie staples I would consider to be extremely dramatic, except the movie Maggie. It has two big names in it (Arnold Schwarzenegger, Abigail Breslin) and is about this girl slowly turning into a zombie (there's a virus contracted by bites), they know what she's turning into... Its just a fantastic movie.
More often than not, I like zombie movies like AAAH! ZOMBIES!!. This gem shows the perspective of the zombie, like they think they're regular people turned supersoldiers, because they can lose an arm and not feel any pain. ...and they wonder why everyone else is moving so fast and trying to kill them. LOL
Its really hilarious.

Gotcha. Well 28 Days Later definitely isn't a B-movie, though it's pretty low budget. I highly recommend at least giving it a try.
I heard good things about Maggie though haven't seen it. The title of the other one sounds familiar but I don't recall seeing a trailer for it before. It looks fun though I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea.
Tell me you've seen Dead Alive though? If not, watch it immediately! You will love it, I can almost guarantee! Perhaps it's been outdone since, but at least for a very long time - if not still - it's the goriest movie of all time (measured by the gallons and gallons of fake blood). It is absolutely ridiculous and completely hilarious.

Veronika and I watched the Cronenberg version of The Fly last night. So good. She actually really liked it a lot too which I was pleasantly surprised with! Great script, characters, and writing. And the special effects are pretty spectacular IMO. I highly recommend. It had been years since I saw it and I forgot just how good it is!
I was going to post the trailer but it's got a bunch of spoilers in it. It's not for folks with weak stomachs but it's pretty dang good IMO.

That's a good movie! Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis have several movies where their characters are romantically involved. Earth Girls Are Easy is another one I can think of off the top of my head...

I was reading that they were a couple in real life (at least during The Fly, I'm not sure about Earth Girls...). I wonder how often that happens.

i follow certain TV shows like Vikings, Game of Thrones, Supernatural. Currently watching the Netflix original 13 Reasons Why, and while it's a bit cliche drama bullshit, the subject matter of the show has me pretty hooked. It's about a girl that commits suicide, but makes a bunch of audio cassettes that target people who drove her to make the decision. A lot of plot holes in the story, but again, it's good enough to keep my interest.
Movie wise, saw the first few Harry Potter movies recently for the first time. Not the biggest fan, but certainly don't hate them. also finally saw Sinister 2 recently, which I loved. The little death films in it are great. Big fan of horror movies myself, but I hate (most) of the cheese ones, and zombie flicks. Moreso into the demonic/supernatural/ghost flicks.

I don't watch shows or movies very often, but every now and then something will catch my wife's eye, so I'll watch a show with her. So far we watched all of the seasons of The Blacklist and The Office that were on Netflix, and we are currently watching Vikings every now and then.
