I thought there was a thread about this here, but I guess I remembered wrong? It's a new project with the same two dudes from Schaliach. I wonder how similar it will sound? facebook.com/fleshkillerofficial

They claim their genre is progressive death, but I'd certainly call Schaliach melodic death with some doom influences...so I expect this to be different. Should still be good though.

Have you heard any of Ole's contemporary blues jazz stuff he did? Still sounds like Schaliach to me with the guitar solos. LOL

I haven't heard any of the blues jazz stuff...and it doesn't sound like the kind of thing I'd really like.

Ole's R&B -stuff was probably of good quality but horrible as well I am VERY opinionated on that type of music so never trust me on this.

I'll be pre-ordering this blind as soon as I realize preorders are open, just based on Elisha Mullins' (ex-AHTDU, The Burial) involvement. Many, many good times at and after shows with him.
Between him and Ole, I will be VERY surprised if there are any misfires with this project......

I don't necessarily dig the "core" vocals, but I like the harmonies and the growls. It's a solid track, reminds me a little of the newest Vardoger!

Not a fan of core vocals either, at least they don't sound like there half pie pushing out brick turds in a library like so many others. Actually those slightly core sounding vocals remind me and sound very similar to some from the Undeceived album. Still great other vocal variety with the cool 70's rock style singing, growls and other styles. Sounds like a new Extol record really where there trying something a little different.

I'm not sure how big of a hand Elisha had in the writing process, but this pretty much sounds exactly like I expected given the names involved. Pretty much a cohesively blended mashup of Extol and The Burial..........I'm MORE than OK with that.
Funny "small world" story about this project: Extol is the whole reason I can call Elisha a buddy. 2nd concert I ever drive any distance to get to was Extol on their US tour for Synergy. One of the openers for the last week or 10 days of the tour was an outfit named Bestiary, whom I struck up a friendship with, traveling to see them 50-60 times over the next few years. A little later on, Bestiary called it a day and 60% of the band went on to form Dagon. Dagon, in turn, became GREAT friends with A Hill to Die Upon, and they would try to get together to play shows whenever schedules would permit, which is how I struck up a friendship with Adam, Elisha and Michael. A couple years after this, Elisha left AHTDU to front The Burial, and the most ironic thing about THAT is that The Burial is SUPER local to me, I could often see them play gigs and drive as little as 10 minutes from my house........and now things go full circle, with Elisha playing in a band with a guy that is in part responsible for the whole saga. Small world indeed......

I'm looking forward to the release.

What do y'all think of the Fleshkiller album now that it's out in its entirety?
I personally love it! I'm pretty sure my favorite tracks are Parallel Kingdom, Wisdom, and Evil Eclipse, but they're all very good!
The band actually appears to be some sort of super-group, with the bassist coming from Shining (not the Suicidal/depressive black metal band, but the black metal/jazz-ish fusion one), and the drummer from a two-piece band called Umpfel. I'm somewhat familiar with Shining, but not at all with Umpfel. I understand they're a progressive/jazz band. I'll have to check them out!

I love Fleshkiller! Their debut album is good. Their songs reminds me of Extol. Another band I love. Metal is killing it this year. 😏

I wigged out when I found out about this project recently because I adore the S/T Extol album and this definitely sounds like a continuation of it. I ordered it about a month ago and I'm still waiting due to COVID delays. I hope they have it in stock still!

I grabbed the digital copy of this. Great album. I don't know any other band besides Extol that has the death/technical metal sound mixed with those harmonized vocals.
