I mentioned this to you guys, and it's time to make a public post. I ordered a shirt from this band at the beginning of December 2015. They never gave me a tracking number. They never sent the shirt. They're ignroing my messages. And this guy's messages. As one of you mentioned, this label got scammed out of over 30 CDs from ExhortMetal. Nokturnal Poetry also had some kind of problems with these people. (See question #5) Today I escalated my PayPal "dispute" to a "claim" and included all these links, including screenshots of my conversation with them (not in this post). Edit: Tonight, I messaged Antestor on facebook, and they confirmed the shirts are fake/unofficial.

To have this kind of deceit and dishonesty in the Christian scene is absolutely disgusting. I'd expect it in the secular realm but not here.
Nocturnaliridescence, I hope PayPal gets your money rightfully back to you and that getting the word out on this prevents others from falling into the same trap.

Yeah, that's definitely the most important thing. If this has been going on since the days when EEE were trading with unblack artists, it's definitely time something is done. I didn't want to have to "go public" with this. But there's no other option. I cannot let this continue - I tried to work it out with them privately (Matthew 18:15), told it to you guys and that guy in facebook comments (Matthew 18:16), and now everyone. (Matthew 18:17)
It's a shame that it has to come to this point with some people. Hopefully that other guy on facebook gets his money back, too. I'd assume it's too late for Nokturnal Wolf or EEE to get anything back at this point.

Well, it even seems that the 'rip-off-rate' is quite high on the scale of things (against the background that it is and always has been a small scene with just a few labels/shops etc.)...

I made this a global announcement as it will be easier for people to see. Afterall, since this is a KNOWN rip off, the more people we can prevent from getting scammed, the better. NI, I'm really sorry you experienced this, and I empathize. Its a horrible feeling to get ripped off and I know how annoying it is to never get answers when the scammer ignores you. I'd recommend posting your information on Metal Archives so this can get added to this list: www.metal-archives.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=109391If you need help with how to do this, please let me know.

Good idea, Thomas. Do we know if there has been any activity at all at the label? Any signs that anyone is alive? Lol.

By the way, did you see the Crimson Moonlight "The Suffering" shirts on the Hortor Facebook page? www.facebook.com/HORTOR-283635461058/I'm 99% positive that's not official merchandise (no one else has that shirt or would think the logo tramp stamp is a good idea) You know, its one thing to rip off customers, but its a whole other caliber of greed to cash in on someone else's work... Someone needs to stop these guys...

I made a thread on Metal Archives.
^ I just checked the thread after writing the above sentence. No replies to the thread yet.
About the shirts, I sent an email to one of the bands whose merchandise they're selling, asking about it.

That band didn't get back to me yet, but Antestor have confirmed the shirts are fake.

It might take a day or two. They might ask a few other questions before they'll add it to the list.

I'll answer my own question, I forgot that Kerrick got a friend request from them on Facebook on 2/16, so someone is alive there. NI, how did you try to contact them about your order? E-mail? If so, try Facebook message, maybe they don't check their e-mail? (Ridiculous I know but maybe worth a try).

Originally, in December, I ordered on facebook. (On the Hortor page - not the ExhortMetal one.) Then in February, I tried messaging them, again on the Hortor page on facebook. Then I took it to PayPal. They ignored both. But very shortly after I escalated my PayPal dispute to a claim, they got back to me on facebook. Something about the money returning to my PayPal. But I haven't gotten a refund.

Yeah, just that one time a couple days ago. I replied to it - facebook says the message was read, but they didn't respond to it. Yet. Though to be fair I'm not sure if there's anything for them to really respond with right now - all I'm pretty much waiting for is the refund they alluded to.

Gotcha. I hope you get your money back as I know all too well how irritating financial disputes can be. Will be praying for your situation, dude.

I would still consider them a crock even if you do get your money back, because you had to enforce their honesty.

Heard anything from him Duane? Sounds like this is an "issue" beyond one customer though... Oh yes i fully understand that. For sure wasnt defending him As u know i run a tight ship and am here to bring Christian metal to another level. As much as we can. As much as i hate to say it. The scene has been filled with rip offs and bootlegging. Which is stealing and unbiblical. And that has made some skeptical of us. Which i understand but dislike. We can't survive without support. But some are afraid to support. From being ripped off. This will not happen to buyers or bands Thru our ministry.

At least you're solid Duane. You and Kai (No Sleep Till Megiddo) are Godsends to this scene.

Well, PayPal reviewed the claim and gave me the $30 back. At no point did Hortor dispute anything I said.

This is sad and disturbing. I understand Mexico has a longstanding tradition with the "bootleg" thing.......but it's still not right.
