Alright well every forum needs one of these so here we are! Post anything that wouldn't necessitate a separate thread in here. Have an awkwardly funny thing happen at work? Discover a great new local brewery? Had a funny dream last night? Post it here! I'll start with a couple nice pictures I took yesterday on my beach-walk:

I can recognize OCD as a debilitating form of anxiety... but there's also a moral aspect of it in some instances as well.
People who have OCD and do their rituals to remove their anxiety, are acting out the disease. People who have OCD and their anxiety has to do with involving (or excluding) others also have an issue with extreme selfishness and other defects of character
ie: someone going in and out of a door 14 times, that doesn't really impact anyone else ie: my ex wife yelling at me because I didn't put the dishes in the dish washer in alignment with her OCD, that's impacting
Just my two cents.

Funny story.
Kaytlyn and I ate at the Lake Point Grille, a pretty fancy restaurant. Didn't have reservations, but there were two open seats at the edge of the bar. When I sat down, it was next to a guy in a suit and tie sipping water. I thought his date stood him up cause he looked awkward. ...then the waiter told me after he left, that was the governor's bodyguard, who sat behind us apparently. Kaytlyn and I didn't even see him!!!
HAHA! No wonder he looked uneasy! I'm twice his size, wearing all black, "Fleshgod Apocalypse" t-shirt, sat right next to him.
The waiter teased that he was probably calling for backup, "code omega!". Biggest laugh I've had all week!

This weekend is looking to be a good'un: Tonight: I'm seeing In Flames with some friends. \m/ Saturday: BEERFEST. No further explanation needed. Sunday: Time for solitude, walk on the beach (the one from my first post), and church in the evening. Life's rough but I'll get through.

I wish I could enjoy beer.
Not that I already haven't had a lifetime supply of liquor... but I fit the last part of this old Chinese proverb:
First a man takes a drink Then a drink takes a drink Then a drink takes a man
March 20th 2007 marks the day I've been sober from all mood and mind altering substances. And I know for sure, if I was ever to go back to any of that,
I would surely die.

The good thing about this thread though is that it can truly be random thoughts. Almost like tweeting, but not. LOL
My fiance needs to stop baking. I'm going to be a great big round fellow if she keeps this up.

I had some wild dreams last night... I've actually been praying for God to speak to me in my dreams (for I am a very vivid dreamer). I may make a thread about it later... Any of y'all gifted with interpreting dreams?

Sometimes my ulcer worries me. I've done a few tests - and they can't find anything.
...and I regularly lose a lot of blood...

I just watched America Unearthed "The Desert Cross" where they found these artifacts from 800 AD in Arizona ....yada yada yada, Columbus wasn't the first to discover America...
There was a carving a freaking dinosaur in the iron artifacts.
Mr. host-of-the-show, out to find the truth of history, looks at a carving of a giant bodied, giant tailed, long necked, forked tongue dinosaur and says, "Why is there a carving of a brontosaurus here? Oh, it has a forked tongue. Must be a lizard. They have forked tongues, and they're everywhere around here."
Yeah genius, those giant long necked big bodied lizards are everywhere in Arizona. I hear about them all the time.
I wish one of these guys would just think for a second that 800AD there weren't exactly dinosaur models or bones nicely displayed in a propped up manner at the local museum in ancient times to draw in tribute. If someone saw a pile of bones in the ground, or on a cave wall, they're not going to draw a skinned version of that creature with a face. They're also not going to have an imagination that, over a thousand years later, just happens to match what scientists discover and put together.
...why is it so hard to believe that ALL dinosaurs didn't die out "millions" of years ago *cough*coelacanth*cough* that there were in fact rare "dragons" (the word used before dinosaur) that people actually encountered in those times?

So... recently I've been spending a fair bit of time with this certain pretty lady... Up until now it's been as friends (I guess, since we haven't had any DTR) but this evening I when I see her intend on letting her know how I feel towards her. She is an absolute catch and I find myself more and more enamored by her every time I see her. I've been getting very good signals from her, though she's European so maybe she's just that way? I give myself a 50/50 chance of getting the affirmative response I'm hoping for to begin "dating." I'll be sure to update y'all how it goes haha.

Good luck my friend! Let us know how it pans out! A few things you said made me think of a few things I'd recommend. Not that I'm captain relationship having had one failed marriage already.... ...but what you're going through reminds me of me a few years ago when I was starting my series of relationships. If you don't want my suggestion, then ignore the spoiler. Again, I hope it works out for you guys. Don't set ANY expectations. (ie: Don't go in thinking she'll feel the same way. Don't go in thinking she won't.)
Also, if this doesn't pan out and down the road you talk to someone else - don't wait until you're wild about them to tell them! Makes it easier/less awkward to share those feelings when they happen!!!!

Thanks dude! Last night was a great success. Funny, I didn't see this message until afterwards, but I did just what you said anyways! I wasn't sure what to expect so I did my best to just be ok with whatever outcome came of it. Also, I totally agree about sharing one's feelings early on. My only hesitation on doing so is that I met her through the 20s/30s ministry at my church - which can be quite the meat-market when it comes to people of the opposite gender and such. I have seen new girls just get swooped on and ultimately not come back because they felt uncomfortable. Anyways, last night was great. She's visiting San Francisco with her friends today but we're going to see each other again tomorrow. Ah I'm so excited. It's been a while since I last dated anyone and this gal is absolutely spectacular.

I'm very familiar with cold steel. However, their biggest sword is still over a foot shorter than the sword I posted a link to.

I ended up buying this. I coordinated with my family for cash for my birthday (still a few months away) and I decided to buy it before I got out of stock. I'm not overwhelmed with satisfaction for the time being, as one business day has passed and my in stock item hasn't shipped. I politely requested an ETA for my package. ...I might start to get increasingly paranoid if I don't hear anything by Wednesday.

Cool! I didn't see anywhere where they mentioned what type of steel it is made of. Do you know? Also, is it "battle ready" (as Cold Steel calls it) or are the edges dull and it's just for show? If I had a giant sword, I'd want to chop stuff with it!

I'm sure my new avatar will probably involve it. I called them today and they said their vendor had to ship it to them. He stated they'll be shipping it out most likely tomorrow, and I'll have it by Wednesday of next week. Hooray!
