1) Dark Night are coming out with a new album! It'll be called "Day of the Dead". 2) Nattesorg released a new album on his new bandcamp today! It's called "Wind of Darkness". Edit: An update on Golgota, their album "Return to the Old Path" / "Regreso a la antigua senda" will be released in English on Vision of God, and in Spanish on Eirene Records.

TIMŌRĀTUS (who has done black metal in the past) announced the name and cover art for his upcoming album which will apparently be drone/doom, "Reverentia" - FB post hereLooking over his FB wall, it does look like he did post an audio sample or two, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised by all this. It must have been one of those things where I meant to listen to it later on, but then forgot. I'm listening to this now, and... woah, this is dark.

Bozkath - Catacomb ep - my 2nd attempt at making an EP in only 24 hours. (I made it in about 11.) Atmospheric black metal / dark ambient. Not my usual style for Bozkath, but this didn't fit with any of my other projects and I didn't want to start another one. Definitely the creepiest music I've ever made. [CLICK HERE]

hm... I like the vocals; the Music sounds a bit noisy for my listening taste - but I am really impressed that you made that EP within such few hours! In my opinion: Good Work!

I really like this. I only wish the "drums" had more of a presence in the areas of the song that had the more active melodies. That's probably entirely a mix preference on my part though.

Yeah, I think this is definitely my favorite release out of everything that I've heard from you, NI.

Thanks guys!! I really wasn't expecting this feedback! I was really uncertain about this and prayed a few times while making it. And... God definitely helped! I could not make something like this in 11 hours on a normal day. The whole thing is also on YouTube now. Like Thomas my channel is monetized, so people can still support this without having to actually pay anything. By the way Thomas, I finally got on Nocturnal Iridescence again and I subscribed to you. And yeah, the mixing on this EP isn't that great, I had to rush it because of the time limit, but I kind of did want the drums to "not have much of a presence" you could say, like what Reverorum ib Malacht did on De Mysteriis dom Christi. It's a weird effect, but I think it helps with the atmosphere.

Hey guys I'm gonna be starting a tape label. So I'm gonna make a ton of BM projects and release them all svper kvlt. If y'all have any secular oriented projects that need tapes, let me know!

Do they have to be secular-oriented? One of these days (/weeks / months...) I finally want to get started on some of these one-off black metal projects that I've had on the back burner, but they're most likely going to be (openly) Christian in some way.

Well I want it to be crossover. So along the lines of Vials of Wrath or Vaakevandring would be cool. Not like Orationem or Crimson Moonlight

In other words, if the JPM is low enough, you're good.

Not quite sure how this fits into the "crossover" category, considering that one of their songs is the Lord's Prayer. I guess you can have high JPM as long as it's not in English.

NI - I gave it a listen and I enjoyed it. I can definitely hear the Reverorum ib Malacht influence. I'd personally prefer for the guitars to be more prominent and less white noise-y. But I really like the atmospheric elements. I like the way you did the keys and structure on the opening track. Keep it up! And thanks for sharing.

Thanks!! Very much appreciated. Are you sure what you're hearing is guitars, though? There are guitars at a few points in track 2, and at certain parts of track 3, but the majority of this doesn't actually have guitars.

But it was track 2 that I had in mind and that I was listening to when I wrote it. I'll keep listening and will hopefully have a more informed opinion.

That doesn't really look like a black metal logo, but you never really know.

That doesn't really look like a black metal logo, but you never really know. I was thinking about the same thing, but I do hope it is There is a great deal of christian death metal and many other subgenres of extreme stuff but there never can be too many quality christian black metal releases!

this is actually some pretty decent metal until the breakdowns come. But that's the best part!

the last breakdown is cool and reminds me of something Immortal Soul would do

[CLICK HERE] I came out of metal retirement to check this out, and I agree with everyone that this is some of your best work compared to what I've heard (I've listented to at least SOME of all your projects, I think). I still think post black metal when I listen to your darker work (and that's not a bad thing, post rock is a fantastic genre). Keep up the good work, dude.

Thanks! I'm glad other people like it so much, lol. I wasn't expecting such positive feedback on this. I guess the overall style (or at least the inclusion of actual guitars lol) is better suited to the scene than, say, the one where I scream over a noisy electronic beat. I still find the "post-black" tag to be odd though, considering I've never listened to that style very much.

Yeah, I don't hear much post-black in Bozkath either.
Then again, it's possible that I'm confusing post-black for blackgaze...but is there much of a difference?

I've always interpreted post-black as black metal that has had an indie rock style midlife crisis. Blackgaze being post-black that focuses on a rather dreamy atmosphere.
