Hey! Thanks for posting. I never knew Blood Covenant had a new song! Is this generally known or is it really new?

Elgibbor released a digital album a couple of weeks ago on Bandcamp called The Roots of Blood. He also put a couple of his older, out-of-print albums on there. Yay - 100 posts!

A few of the songs on that album are from Revenger of Blood.

Hate to double post, but... This album is good. A great mix of symphonics, death metal riffs and great drumming. And, as a big words guy, the lyrics are fantastic, most are taken directly from scripture. I would liken the sound much more to Fleshgod Apocalypse than Grave Declaration or Dummy Burger.

I'll have to check that out.
EDIT: I went to the SkyBurnsBlack Bandcamp and I couldn't find Renascent there.

Now I'm going to double post. Found a song on YouTube. I dig the old creepy vibe I'm getting from the melodies, reminds me of Carach Angren in some spots.
I didn't hear any blasting though. I know FA songs go without blastbeats, but if I'm really going to enjoy my black metal, I need to hear their blast. (Just so we're clear here on drumming terminology, a "blast" is that really fast kick-snare-kick-snare beat that's common in black metal)

They don't blast. What a shame.
This is like an amazingly good cake that's devoid of icing.
Oh well. I'll probably still pick this up. This is one of the better CBM acts I've heard.
What I need to look into more is Blood Covenant. Love their blasting...

I'll have to check that out. EDIT: I went to the SkyBurnsBlack Bandcamp and I couldn't find Renascent there. ._. That's interesting. I found it through Joshua's Twitter. It must have linked directly to the band's page. I gave the album a solid once through last night and really enjoyed it!

"Album"
7 songs
I do like what I'm hearing, though! Definitely!
Edit: By the way, you realize that says November 25, not December 25 right?

I can forgive the "two note" approach when there's SO many changes. This sounds really good. I'd be interested in getting my hands on this.
Part of me wished that the vocals were more the black metal range, but the more I listened, those death vox fit the bill. Good stuff!

Edit: By the way, you realize that says November 25, not December 25 right? Oh, look at that, it does! I thought it said December lol. When I saw it this morning, it hadn't been fully released yet and only three songs were available for streaming. I think this counts as a full-length. The last song is 17 minutes. Granted, it seems to be entirely orchestral, but still...

Robert Bekić of dark ambient/funeral doom project † was featured on a compilation of ambient/drone/etc music. Not sure how many of the other bands are Christian, though; I recognize "Saturn Form Essence" from the secular scene.

So I realized today that I am one day late to preorder the new Slechtvalk and have it ship early. Are any of the shops getting copies that I can order from the US and get it sooner than importing? Has anyone heard if VoG or Josh Sky is carrying this release?

I think I am going to just order from the band and bite the bullet and wait.

I love those guitar chords man. Very innovative! I can think of a couple bands it reminds me of, but you take it to the next level!

I love how haunting your stuff sounds. Like a layered haunting.
