Thought I'd say hi. Apologies for closing Blackened Hymns so abruptly. I'm not into metal anymore (and haven't been for a long time, even though I still did Quest for Serenity). More into country/country rock these days. Still got a Quest for Serenity album half done that I might finish one day. All the best for this new forum. Hey man, glad you're here! While I'm still very much black and death metal, I've been getting a fair share of country through my ears. (but that's what happens when that's what my lady listens to)

Thanks Thomas, glad to be here. I guess music taste changes overtime, although never thought I'd dig some of the stuff I listen to now.

You know, I've pondered WHY I like this kind of music. Almost felt guilty for being "stuck" with it. Ever since 10th grade when I first heard Metanoia on that The Raise The Dead Aussie comp... Its been extreme metal ever since.
Maybe there's a psychological reason?

I liked metal, mostly extreme metal for a lot of years but it started fading probably about 5 years ago. I wonder if it is age-related. I am 42 now and find myself enjoying more relaxing music without the aggression/distortion/blastbeats etc of extreme metal.
Getting back into vinyl may have something to do with it as I have got alot of mellower music on LP that I used to listen to growing up.

Sorry NoSleep, missed your post earlier, the 2nd Winter's Dawn album will probably not be released, my bandmate is not interested in finishing the songs. Thanks for asking.

If the older I get, the heavier music I make... ...does that mean if I'm still recording music at age 90, listening to it will be like getting hit with the planet Jupiter?

I didn't get burnt out on the genre (and haven't listened to just extreme metal for years, if ever), my taste just changed. I appreciate quieter, mellower music these days. This might be after going through alot of internal chaos and now I just want peace and quiet inside and out!

I get on dub and old school reggae kick and be in the tropics for days sometimes and then i can be the frozen woods and howling hills and deepest dungeons on others, usually I'm really at my drawing table though Ivry ting cool n crisp mon!

I haven't been to the tropics yet, out in the country most of the time!

Hey hey, good to see you here! Thomas is the admin 'round these parts and I'm a moderator. It's the unofficial new Blackened Hymns I suppose. When TBH shut down so abruptly, we were all bummed so Thomas created this spot!

I felt called to create it for all of us! We all need a place to gather to discuss this very fine tuned music niche. ...plus, I need the Christian influence/help from others here. Keeps me in check!

Hello Everyone! Finally I'm here with you guys. I'm not familiar with christian metal as I use to be before. So I'm glad to see ' general black metal' section. Have a good day.
edit: Default avatar looks awful, I have to change it immediately!
