I like when my mom and I can work out together. Granted I'm at the park walking and she's an hour away on her elliptical... but it's still working out together because we're on the phone. :B
Did 2.5 miles on foot today. I'm tired and my lower back is a bit stiff now... but that won't last long.
Also did some abwork and bench at home.

Been repping 295lbs on the flat bench for 6-7 pushes per set. I'll be to 315lbs in no time! Also, had an interesting conversation with my state trooper buddy at the gym. He was like, "Did you know you're a legend at this gym? Every time I come in here, I hear stories about "this guy" who puts 315lbs on the bench, no warmup, no stretching, just starts throwing it around." LOL
He also told me about this nickname some of the guys had for me. (since they didn't know my name) I knew of the nickname "315". ...but he said some of the guys called me "Bwah".
Apparently, when I'm straining on that last rep before I rack it, I bellow out "BWWWAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" LOLOL [weights1] _________________________
Speaking of exercise, I'm super proud of my wife! Since we're "probably" planning in vitro fertilization this year, as a nurse, she said she KNOWS before she even sees a doctor, that the procedure will be astronomically more successful if she drops a few pounds. She's been going to the gym more than I have, measuring portions with food, only 1 soda a week...
She's been just running for an hour on a treadmill everyday, but wants to start hitting the gym the same time as me so I can help her with some weight training. Obviously a much lighter weight than me - she's trying to get tone, not beef up like her husband. HAHA!!

My wife has been running and lifting weights every day after work. Sometimes going to the gym days off work. That sort of stuff increases the odds. First in-vitro appointment down - just a checkup. 2nd one is in June.
I probably shouldn't lift like this with a hernia, but its nice to get back this much strength being cancer-free one day away from 4 months.

My friend dragged me out to the gym today. We ran and did pull-ups, push-ups and I think tricep dips. He did more than I did in all four of those areas (we ran about the same amount but he did it faster) and I felt dead tired afterwards. Honestly just looking around at all of the buff 20-something-year-olds made me feel really out of place. I spent my high school years primarily training my brain rather than my body...

After more than 5 years of doing nothing, Yesterday I signed up into a gym where I´ll practice BJJ & mma striking/grappling (also had the 1st session). I can say my whole body hurts but after the workout I felt awesome. Hopefully i ́ll be focused and disciplined and continue it for a long time Also, @thomas Eversole dude You´re a monster on these videos.

Nice necrothread! Inactivity is the friend of back pain. I had my fair share of that going through my cancer wringer, but yes - I've found if my neck or back starts hurting, its because I'm not using my back enough. Good old fashioned squats is what I resort to. Nothing crazy. Just moving muscles.

You still doing MMA? How do you feel about Cejudo's <1m KO this past weekend.. I stopped some time ago, because I moved to a different town. Now, I´m focusing on finishing my album and this new band I´m a part of. Yeah, the outcome was really unexpected; I though that T.J. had this in his pocked but nope. Definitely the moment of the night was Cowboy, I´m so glad he handled this one like a boss.

This is either an answer to prayer, or God is ok with enabling me on this. A new 24 hour gym opened up in my little village. Its literally a 5 minute walk from my house. Hit the old bench press pretty good yesterday. Considering I haven't benched in a while (before my port was removed) I was glad to do as well as I did. 250lbs for 2 sets of 10. Plus, did some other arm and chest work while I was gabbing with the gym owner and some other guys.

Well I've adequately shredded my muscles. Gonna let them build back up and I'll hit the weights again Saturday. I've developed a bad lifting habit. My infusaport (which was surgically put in 2016) was "too close" to where the bar would be on my chest when I did bench. Because of that, I wouldn't let the bar touch my chest when I lifting then. I catch myself doing that STILL.... even though my port has been removed. I'm not bumping up my weights until I break that habit, and can hit the current (free) weight 3 sets of 10. Hit the old bench press pretty good yesterday. Considering I haven't benched in a while (before my port was removed) I was glad to do as well as I did. 250lbs for 2 sets of 10. This ↑ wasn't "free weights", but a machine. While it's still "the weight" and "lifting it", free weights demand more strength/control to maintain the form - where a machine does all the form for you. I did 225lbs, 3 sets of 7, free weights on the bench today. 225lbs, 3 sets of 7, lat pulldowns (machine) I was the only one in the gym, so the workout music was an Orationem "When We Are Wounded" CD cranked to an obscene volume.

Hit the gym yesterday after work.
225lbs x 10 245lbs x 7 245lbs x 7
....for my 3 sets on flat bench. Also did some leg presses and preacher curls, but flat bench is my focus. (like it was before)
The last 2 times I worked out, I was the only person there. If I can get a spotter next time (Tuesday after work) I'll throw on 275lbs and see how many reps I can get.

Today's work out.
245lbs x 7 245lbs x 7 245lbs x 7
For flat bench and lat pulldowns. Did some leg presses after that - I don't know how many.
Lord, please help me not to think I'm a failure because I'm not throwing around 315lbs right this minute. Please help me appreciate that I'm at least adhering to a workout schedule so far.

] Lord, please help me not to think I'm a failure because I'm not throwing around 315lbs right this minute. I'm sorry, I had to chuckle at this - just a little. I run, I take a yoga class twice a week, and I lift free weights. I'm 6', 220lbs, but could never in my wildest dreams imagine benching 300lbs+!!! I am more than a little in awe. I'd come spot you anytime brother!

In a way, I'm chuckling at that thinking too. If it were ONLY wishful thinking, I probably wouldn't have that bouncing around in my head.... but just 3 years ago, I put a video on my youtube channel where I hit 315lbs for 10 reps without a spotter. I don't think its out of line to WANT to be able to do that again.... but after inventorying my thoughts/feelings/desires about it, I DO need better patience. :B

Meanwhile, I'm a 6'1" 145 lbs skinny boi who probably should get back to lifting. I started to get into a decent routine during the summer but that went out the window when college started back up and I haven't really gotten back to it at all. For me, just being able to bench 125 for 10 reps would be crazy...
For cardio I like to play DDR. I know that's pretty weird but it's a lot of fun and hard songs are actually a good workout.

For cardio I like to play DDR. Oh yeah man. I believe it you could get a good workout from Dramatic Dill Reincarnation Dance Dance Revolution. My wife does these cardio-aerobic-workout type videos on YouTube. Not the entertainment value of a game, but they seem to keep her going. XD When I started lifting at 27 (stopped drinking) I couldn't do 10 reps of 135lbs. Of course 315lbs wasn't overnight, but 2 years of following some pretty basic "get big" rules... I added quite a bit of muscle weight. - If you can push, pull, lift it more than 10 times in a set, you're spinning your wheels. I guess muscles tear and build back a little different when you go heavy/low reps. - For big lifts, days off are good. Instead of lifting every other day, I stuck to 2 days off between weight days. After all, building more muscle involves not lifting, and protein. XD I'll make a post in the food thread about my diet.... which has changed.

Forgot to post about my workout on the 18th. Oops. It happened though - it was just identical to the above, and I was less tired afterwards. Today's workout, I did something a little different. I put 315lbs in free weights on this bench machine and did 3 sets of 10. (obviously, machine is much easier than free weights considering I can muster 3 sets of 7 reps with 245lbs) I'm hoping this will wake my muscles up so I can hit 10 reps on the flat bench faster. Also did squats until fatigue. I have noticed one thing and my wife has too. My shirts are getting tighter.... and not in the stomach area. Chest, shoulders and arms, a large shirt isn't as roomy as it used to be. My wife was like, "Is it time to start getting you X-large?" "Nope. I'm sticking with large, and everything I wear will be a muscle shirt."

Worked like a charm. Literally today's workout and Sunday's workout, my first set of 245lbs on the flat bench was 10 reps. 2nd set 9, 3rd set 7. (got tired) If I can get to where I can rep 245lbs for 3 sets of 10, I'm bumping the weight up. Literally not going to mess with that amount anymore. I'd like to hit 275lbs on the flat bench, but I'd want a spotter so I could gun for all the reps possible. (ie: get help with the last push rather than get scared and wrack it early because I assume I don't have another rep in me)

My wife got me some add-on free weights for my birthday last week, so I've added 10lbs to both my bench press and curls. When 3 sets of 10 gets easy, I will add more!! I can do 3 sets now, but the last 3-4 reps are pretty brutal. ))

I can do 3 sets now, but the last 3-4 reps are pretty brutal. That's hitting it! I know I bench more than the average male... but its rather strange how I see what I bench, in compared to what other's bench. Like I'm more of a freak than I am awesome. LOL Like when I worked out yesterday, there was an older gentleman who had 115lbs (bar, 35lb weight on each side) on the decline bench, and he could get about 4 reps. The last one went up reeeeeeeeeeeeally slow. As strange as it sounds, if I was "only" doing 4 reps of 115lb on the decline, I'd see myself as a weak turd. ....but someone else doing that? They're "getting it". That's "money". XD Actually, I see what he did as better gains for him, than what I'm doing for me. He worked out for longer than I did too. Stamina fail when the guy without wrinkles and gray hair gets tired faster. (LOL - if I could have any hair on my head, gray or not, I'd have it!) I'd be hitting a weight I could only get 4 times if I wasn't so chicken about the amount and worried it would bury me without a spotter. My mindset of myself vs others when it comes to "physical" stuff is weird. Kind of like me weighing in at 260lbs and being in a lineup of 400lb dudes, and I'm still utterly convinced that I'm "the fat guy" in the room.

After 3 sets of 10 with 245lbs - I threw 275lbs on for a 4th set and did 4 reps. Next workout day is Saturday. I'm putting 275lbs on and sticking with that until I can get 3 sets of 10. Might put on 295lbs a couple workouts down the road if repping 275lbs goes well.
