I was thinking of stepping up my pedal game lately, but all I've used in relation to guitars is the Line 6 POD X3 multi-effects processor (Which is now nigh-unusable). Pedals seem really expensive though.
Do you guys use lots of pedals? What kind do you use, and which are your favorite?

I'm only a casual musician. I use the digital effects pedals that come with the free version of Amplitube lol.

I used the same $40 pedal for 4 Ankou Awaits releases, 3 Orationem releases (plus the Not Live), Breviarium, GRIM-Vespers and Akryal.
Digitech Death Metal Pedal.
Back in 2001-2003 (Akryal/Breviarium) it was called a D.O.D. Death metal pedal.
I think I used it for Phelicia's Entrails too, but I can't remember.
Even sounds good with an acoustic guitar (what you're hearing on Ankou Awaits Wyllt) so I imagine it would be awesome on bass too.

Sweet!
I'm not sure if I should try going for a live mic & amp setup for recording guitar instead of another Line 6 multieffects processor. I haven't been hearing very many good things about them lately, and I don't want to have the same thing happen like with the POD X3.
Which means I'll need a new amp & a decent mic...

Update on gear: I recently got my 6-string Schecter restringed, so it's good to go, but now I'm looking into guitar amps.
Anyone got recommendations? I've been looking into Blackstar, they seem like pretty decent tube amps. Definitely between the $400 & $600 range is what I'm looking at

reviving this thread. have any of you messed with pedals by Donner, Joyo, or Biyang?
is it alright to go the cheap as hell route with pedals instead of the normal standard pedals like by TC Electronics, MXR, and Boss and such
