Man, I love playing this game. Having been a gamer since the 80's, its hard for me to get excited about games anymore... having played so many of them. This is for android/iOS, maybe other devices, and a mobile equivalent to the Dark Souls series. ...except there's elements about it I like better than Dark Souls. Ire: Blood Memory. The game is free, and while there are in-app purchases to make your guy more epic, but no purchases are required whatsoever to enjoy the heck out of this game. As you can see, its pretty high end on the graphics. I have the detail cranked up because I have an S7 phone and it handles the game beautifully. If you do have an older phone, you can crank down the resolution and amount of detail to smooth things out for you. As you can see from the screenshot, I've got some pretty bad ass armor and a wicked looking sword. I'd like to think I'm one of the more advanced players, as my sword is S Rank and my armor is A rank. (S+ is as high as it goes and my armor is only available after beating the game twice, each time getting harder - like Dark Souls - and enemies/bosses drop different/better things.) Its mission based so you can play it for 2 minutes and be done if you want. You can also set the game on autopilot and it farms gold/items for you. Anyone interested in playing, look me up. I'm EverSoul on the game. Being a pretty strong player, I could make you starting out a little easier. (You'll summon my character as an NPC that fights with you) ...I can get you some bone shards (a type of currency) to help you out too. (by hiring your guy) Come on! It would be fun and we could message each other in the game chat too!

When I first downloaded this game a month and a half ago, Google Play showed this game as having 10 thousand downloads. Now its 500 thousand.
I'm not the top player by any means. There's some crazy strong players out there, but I'm definitely in the top 1%. Got to the point where I always raid other players quarries for gold... meanwhile, a gaggle of really strong Korean players are always raiding my smelter.
They've done one considerably large update since I've been playing. Adding a new game to play, new mode (Penitence), and new gear.
I think one reason why I'm so hooked on this game is the social aspect of it as well. You get to use other player's characters (called boons in the game) as your comrades. You see the same names in the game's chat room and get a decent sense of camaraderie being able to talk game to people. As with any community, there's going to be the occasional creep or troll, but its a good place.
I like to help people asking questions in the chat. Again, love to play the game with anyone here... if this is the kind of game you're into!

Sent you a request this morning bro! From the map or your player screen, you should see a red circle telling you there's something new. The two hands icons is your boons. You should see my request in your pending.

Man, there's some high end bosses that I can't even come close to beating... yet there's some really skilled players with shitty gear that can beat them seemingly without problem.
So frustrating.

"A" gear after a few days of playing is STELLAR. None of the bosses in this game are easy - they don't call it "the portable Dark Souls" for nothing. Character level only effects hit points - gear is where it's at. You seem to be doing well. (It's cool how you can look at your boons profiles and see when they're online.)
Now I'm sounding like the guys giving me advice. Once you play defensively and know when to block, dodge, combo in between, prowler is pretty predictable. My world boss prowler is lvl 100 - what's crazy is the moveset changes when you fight the higher level bosses. (By crazy I mean pretty awesome)
By the way. Prowler is EXTREMELY weak to stun. Get your hands on a concussion weapon, you'll own him. Lyrius is your next hurdle. The final form of him was where I got owned. (Lyrius the Spared in the deeper rift)

Been practicing fighting Lyrius. While "Git gud scrub" is not the most friendly advice I've ever gotten, it's certainly true. I am in fact "gitting gud". ...or at least better at playing.

Got it to A level, upgrading THAT is gonna be stupidly expensive both in gold and shards. Need my "day" to reset so I can have a new set of daily challenges, tapped those out quickly early on, so there went my easy gold....lol...also l BIGGEST obstacle to gear upgrades for me is when it wants wound CRYSTALS, instead of fragments. Got some B level defensive gear I'd like to up as well.....

Man I'm so glad I can talk to at least one person here about this game! Once you beat New Game (Kerr is crazy, I can give advice on how to beat him) you get access to New Game +1. Its tougher, but better rewards. I've beat New Game +2 and New Game +3, which is as far as the game goes for now. (I'm positive they'll add New Game +4 because the achievement rewards are already in the game.) New Game +3, A and S grade Gold Ores drop commonly from the Petrified Merchant, and you can sell those for thousands. My point is, A weapons take only a couple hours to MAX when you get later on in the game, where anyone can rake in 40,000 gold in 15 minutes. (there's a little trick I learned from some pros about New Game +2, mission 5-8. ) Again, I think you're doing fantastic for the short amount of time you've played. Are you getting the surprise reward notifications? Those will help you forge too. Complimentary pull from the shop helps too. You might get a bunch of meh D shards, but I got my B Aker's helm (that I'm wearing now, upgraded to S MAX) from a complimentary draw. _________________________ By the way, I totally buy that gem subscription for $4.99. Bought it twice and a week+ away from buying it again. If you're serious enough about the game, it will help you out LOADS because its a butt ton of gems up front, and 200 gems a day for a month.

RANDOM P2W RANT: Just like I support the Christian metal scene (purchases and donations), I do the same regarding game developers. I wouldn't consider this game to be P2W (Pay to Win) at all.
I look at it this way. I'm willing to spend $20 for my wife and I to watch a 112 minute movie in a building, and then its done and over with after 112 minutes. ...why wouldn't I be willing to drop $20 on something fun I enjoy every day for months?

Took Exo with me grinding on 5-8. Petram wouldn't be so tough without all those soldiers... Thought I'd bring Adam with me on a high level Prowler, you know, to get his feet wet? :B

I've done that. Gotta traverse the fog wall into the arena. Rifthound I'm assuming? You'll love the sword he drops.
He'll love trying to knock you out of the arena too.

Damn! You on 7-6 already? That A weapon must have helped!
I had to look up the strategy on how to beat Kerr. Once you figure out to run away from him (unless he swings that totem around, then let him have it), you'll probably beat him with still most your life.

I had another player point out to me that the reason I'm getting my butt kicked by the rift Lyrius, is because my lightning resistance sucks. That has to do with the armor I'm wearing. I did find a piece I like the looks of that will give me a hefty boost in lightning resistance. It will just take some time to get it to S and then S+. I want to do the same with my helmet, which also has decent lightning resistance. Just got this Night Sword to S rank. I want to get it to S+, but I might work on getting my armor upgraded first. I brought Exo and Adam with me to fight the rifthound.

Kerr is annoying me still. Time to level up more defensive gear, and hopefully if I take a boon to 7-6, they'd transport to Kerr with me.....

No boons allowed on 7-6. Sorry. You're on your own.
Night resistance will help with Kerr. Udaeus armor will help out tremendously, if you could get it to drop from one of the other stages.

I think Kerr fights are more about rhythm than gear. Though gear lets you get away with some mistakes. I seriously run from him, (hold targeting button to turn it off), locking on to him between his attacks. If he swings his totem around, that's when I go in for the kill. Any other move, I turn off targeting again and run far away.
His body language (like all monsters) gives indicators as to what moves he's going to do. Did you watch that video I posted? It might help!

Yeah, I have NOTHING with any night resistance, and even runninfg around like a chicken with it's head cut off, I'm still getting hit too much. I'm still running Ranger armor...... Almost ready to composite an A level Udaeus helm, and he it another whirl.....
