You bet! I just came across that the other day and was super impressed. It's rare to find music that is that emotive and powerful. The Angelic Process comes to mind though.

I uh... I wouldn't call that DSBM. That's a very black shoegaze. What genre Ghost Bath is aside, I think its very good stuff.

Yeah, that's just the label that the article I read gave 'em. I'd probably agree more with you Thomas in terms of genre... But yes, regardless, it is quite good!

Glad you like! One of my metalhead friends from church posted a link to a review on his Facebook.

Must be nice to be around those who also listen to the same music. No one around where I live listens to the same genre of music I do... its either country, rap or mallmetal.
Its also one giant cornfield where I live.
Send help.

Yeah it's pretty nice having fellow metalheads around. Actually, the guy who posted that is in a band who just announced they will be releasing their new EP on SkyBurnsBlack Records! I'm stoked. I'll make a separate thread for them. They're melodic death metal.

Well, whatever genre they play - they're a really outstanding band IMHO. Such atmospheric and emotional music! Normally, I don't like their kind of vocals, but after listening to it for a while, they sorta fit the music. I was actually pretty impressed when I took a close listen to "Golden Number". Listening to them right now . Looks like their CD is already sold out...in this case, a digital version will have to be enough ^^. But I'll wait until I can read through the lyrics. Thanks for the recommendation Kerrick!

One that I mentioned? Above The Storm or Throne Of Awful Splendor probably.

I don't know that I would call the band uplifting.

Nuclear Blast is releasing last year's "Moonlover" album June 10th with a bonus track. That bonus track is SWEET.

Preordered their limited number digipak when it first came out. I listenes to it over 50 times in the first month and got sick of it that I had to sell it.....
By now I think I'm ready to buy it again.
I remember when they said they were from China. Sucks that the city they said they were from was the city I lived in. I tried so hard to get in touch with them to see if they were doing local shows and never got responses...

Are there any Christian bands with an even remotely similar style to this?

As far as the synth melodies, Stellar Kart has some similar stuff, but as far as everything else, no. And not even in the secular scene. This is a one of a kind band unless you want to include Sorrow Plagues and Mesarthim
