Elgibbor is a quite productive black metal band/project. But is his music really good to be released that much?
I have heard quite a bunch of albums of his but I can say that only 2 albums are to be considered 'good'. Especially his first albums and last albums are rather generic. I think on most albums I enjoy only 2 or 3 songs. The albums that to my opinion are entirely worthwhile are The Imminent Invasion and Soterion Apullami Hamartia (?). Also the songs on the Slava Bogu EP are fantastic. All the other albums fall into the category of generic, minus a few exceptional songs.
What do you guys think?

See, I thought Soterion Apollumi Hamartia was more generic, while War, an album you didn't mention, was awesome.
I can't say much about his discography as a whole, I've only heard a few albums. Looking further into Elgibbor's discography is something I intend to do one day, but haven't gotten around to yet.

I must say seeing he is signed with us--- I don't see the point of 4 bands tho. they don't variate from style that much and really all sound like elgibbor-. I'm from the old grindcore scene- not trying to be funny or rude (especially because he is on my label for elgibbor) but nuclear blaze is NOT grindcore. its elgibbor with a slight death/grind twist it is pretty much elgibbor with some grind parts. also as far as studio recordings go- they are home studio recorded. all these "songs" are recorded and a release is put together- variating sound quality WITH EVERY SONG. while older releases sound like a studio recording done all at a few sessions those sound like releases--- newer releases that I had done were more compilation like to me....even tho they were recorded as A RELEASE the variation sound from song to song... makes it more like a compilation thank a release itself. that's just my exact observation being the label for the last 3 releases NOT THAT I WANT TO DOWNTALK ON MY RELEASES AT ALL... but I'm true and a nitpicker for quality- I love raw as well... so it not the production---its the variating sound on EVERY song resist him is proably about his best release ever. and production is is a lot less variating on that release ... anyone have any thoughts on this feel free to mention YOU WILL NOT AFFEND ME--- (UNLESS U TELL ME I SUCK LOL)

But is his music really good to be released that much? Well, if Fire and Elgibbor is like me and Orationem, him releasing music has NOTHING to do with who likes it or doesn't like it. He's driven with his creativity, HE likes it (or he wouldn't keep doing it), and it probably ministers to him. ....at least that's me and my view of Orationem to a T. Since like/dislike is 100% opinion (and people have opinions), I would still consider Elgibbor to be head and shoulders above MOST (almost all) Christian black metal acts. Its like having the options of a little bit of chocolate cake, or a LOT of vanilla cake. If you don't like white cake, its going to suck. If you LOVE white cake and chocolate is "meh", then its going to be quite awesome - and certainly better than a little bit of white cake. Apart from Orationem (5 full length albums in 2 years) and Elgibbor (a TON of albums since 1999) every other Christian black metal act does the following. - No music at all. Just a page with pictures. - One and done with a YouTube track. - One demo/ep that is impossible to find anymore - One album, then they drop off the edge of the earth - One album and then "See you in 10 years!" for the next album BEST case scenario for the rest of those bands, you really like it, and then you probably don't listen to it much after X years.... cause there's literally nothing else. BEST case scenario for Elgibbor, someone LOVES their music, and loves it even more that there are SO MANY ALBUMS.

I think i have all the Elgibbor releases and enjoy something from them all. I like the raw old school atmospheric stuff the best. Most of the album covers i really dislike though. The Katumus project Fire did with Armath i really enjoy also. Recently picked up Tertullian -The Utter Destruction to get into along with earlier in the year Revenger of blood (remastered and expanded cd)and Roots of blood (grim beauty)

I personally love Elgibbor, however some of his music can be a little much, but if your someone who loves that raw sound, then Elgibbor is who you need to listen to. IMO, "Knight's of Christ" is his best album, with "Roots of Blood" and "Resist Him" being the runner ups. I do agree with VoGR however, regarding his other metal bands/projects basically just being more Elgibbor, however I don't have that much of a problem with it being that I like that style of music and black metal to begin with. Also, regarding Nuclear Blaze, I like the Elgibbor-style music with the deathgrind/grindcore elements mixed in, because I'm not much of a core fan to begin with (I used to be , however, when I was first transforming into the metalhead that I am today). Personally when I listen to Elgibbor it feels like I'm breathing in cold, just pure cold, and that is the kind of vibe that I expect when I listen to black metal.

Vision of God Records and Thomas Eversole have excellent responses. I really like the new Resist Him album. I think it's much better than Elgibbor's previous release The Roots of Blood (which had awesome cover art though). However, I do think Elgibbor could have taken some time and made one really good album with the best songs from Roots of Blood and Resist him as there was only 6 months or so between releases. As Vision of God said, his other projects like Firethrone and Nuclear Blaze really aren't that much different than Elgibbor or any different at all really. This man is still a top notch musician though!
