Hello everyone,
I'm a little bit on a mission looking for some Christian black/death metal that captures the musical aesthetic of what's known as "bestial black metal" or "war metal". For those that aren't familiar with the sound, it's a pretty chaotic form of black/death which is very messy and extreme. Prime examples of this sound include bands like Blasphemy (the pioneer), Archgoat, Diocletian, Proclamation, Morbosidad, etc. Those that are familiar with the scene know that the lyrics and attitude are generally hateful and blasphemous, so I've been personally trying to dig for Christian bands that capture the nasty and chaotic sound because I figured somebody might be doing it. Well, I have yet to find anything remotely close to the sound. Has anyone else here looked into the microgenre? Any luck finding Christian alternatives?
Thanks!

I'm looking for bands within the "black/death" fusion genre following the sounds of the bands I described.

Not familiar with there being a whole lot of Christian stuff alon the lines of Archgoat and Diocletian. Orationem is probably the closest out of whatâs been suggested so far, though thatâs way more âblackâ than the chaotic black/death hybrid youâre looking for. Iâm thinking you might want to check out the Sermon Decay album from Encryptor, though that act has been defunct for the better part of a decade, and is probably more on the âdeath/grindâ end of things than âchaotic black/deathâ.

Thank you! I will look into Encryptor nonetheless. I kinda wish there were Christian artists going for the black + death + grind sound since the whole war metal stuff is quite popular for extreme metal fans.

That Lucifer impaled is a good start. It needs bass and probably a lower tuning to really get that grimy sound. Also more delay in the vocals would be good as well. The riffs could change up more often but it sounds like this song is the artist trying to establish a firm grasp on how the style is put together and I see that this dude does know the style well. Probably by the second release this artist will have it down completely and sound amazing. The last thing is that this dude doesn't know how to make a good front cover, he should have let someone who knows the aesthetic do something.

It's the blatant lack of knowledge on image composition too. The style of art the source pic is is good but the best for for a war metal aesthetic. The current war metal aesthetic utilizes a lot of black negative space and this artwork has almost no negative space. There a good number of artists that would make something that is amazing for under $100 and I think he should have invested in that. But I do admit that I judge a book by its cover.
I didn't know he has another project can you send me a link?

When I first saw the Bandcamp notification for this, I thought it was another "Satanic" record from some black metal label I follow...then I realized it was you. Interesting stuff.

Goatblood - Blut der Baphomet Not bad at all, a bitt to raw for me these days but still pretty cool. Like the intro a lot, but just so you know the German you´ve used is grammatically wrong Blut der baphomet = Blood the baphomet (should be: Blut des baphomet) Die Dämonen hab nicht seine Kraft = the demons doesn´t have his power (should be: Die dämonen haben keine Kraft) Durch die Macht der Christus = der in this context means "them" plural (should be: Durch die Macht Christi) If you ever need to translate something just let me know

When I first saw the Bandcamp notification for this, I thought it was another "Satanic" record from some black metal label I follow...then I realized it was you. Interesting stuff. I'm actually trying not to get Goatblood too much recognition in the Christian scene, and trying to focus it more on the secular scene. (Although it is Christian.) So I suppose that means it's doing its job well. I do try, sometimes, to take aesthetic influence from my time in the secular scene -- not for the purpose of "BeInG lIkE tHe BiG bOyS" or anything silly like that, but because it ... well, it might sound kind of silly, but it's "therapeutic" in a sense. In the past, I felt very powerless against spiritual forces. So knowing, now, that God has dominion over all of them, I sometimes adapt (NOT plagiarize, but adapt) ideas from back then as an act of ... "conquering" the darkness, you could say. A way of letting the devil and his demons know they have no power over me. (The cover artwork for this single was inspired by a certain album that made me ... "uncomfortable"? in the old days.) Not bad at all, a bitt to raw for me these days but still pretty cool. Like the intro a lot, but just so you know the German you´ve used is grammatically wrong Eh, future songs will be produced a bit better ;( For this one song, as an experiment, I don't think the production is bad, and I would probably like other music produced like it... but this definitely isn't the "sound" I want for Goatblood as a whole. About the grammar, I appreciate it, but I'm not that concerned. I studied a tiny bit of German in school, but it's not perfect by any stretch. I probably won't use German for other songs, just this one.
