This deserves another thread.
I'm very eager for this release. Does anyone have any (new) news?
The last update I see is from Nov. 2017:

Been trying to remember to update the forum whenever I see an update. Charles did stop by recently, but posted in one of the "general" threads, not any pertaining to his music. Definitely looking forward to this This band has apparently been around for FOREVER, being on hold or split up etc several times (I found one or two old sites for Sylvan Fortress on archive.org!) So it's especially exciting to see stuff finally happening. I actually have a couple demo recordings they did years and years ago - I can't remember right now who sent them to me. And Charles said I could upload those after this has been released and people have had a chance to listen to it. So I'm also looking forward to sharing these old tracks with the new fans this project will inevitably get!

Greetings fellow metalheads, I just saw this thread. I can speak on Sylvan Fortress.
The 5 song EP has been recorded. The real live acoustic drums were performed by Shawn Cameron (Carnifex) and recorded in December of 2016, I think. There was a bit of a break after that while I put the rest of the band together.
The bass was performed by Luke Renno (Crimson Thorn, Taking the Head of Goliath) and recorded in January 2018.
The guitars were performed by me (Charles) and recorded in January of 2018
The vocals were performed by Ronny Hansen and recorded in January 2018.
All recording/tracking was engineered by me at my Battlefrost Productions studio in Lakeside, CA.
Shawn Cameron lives near me so that was easy. Ronny and Luke flew out to California and we recorded everything together. Since we are all located great distances from each other (with the exception of Shawn Cameron and myself) I felt it was extra important to record this together as a team, bonding together as a real band (because we are a real cohesive band again.)
This isn't just a long distance recording project, we will be moving forward as a normal band looking to perform live in the near future, along with making more albums and collaborating more on the music (this EP "Enthroned on White" has a little collaboration on it, but was mainly written by myself alone. I much prefer to collaborate as a band, as I know that is much more fun and takes things in new directions.
No mixing has taken place yet. I am expanding my recording studio to become a record label. This idea started because I was not happy with the deals we were being offered by other labels. With nothing but respect, I politely declined all of our offers. I decided to launch Battlefrost Productions as a record label and release the first Sylvan Fortress recording from there. Along the way, I have picked up a couple of other bands to work with as well on this new label.
So this effort is taking time to get together and has delayed the mixing of Enthroned on White. Also, at the studio, I have several clients that I need to finish, meeting dealines, etc... So, I am putting back the release a bit to get all this done.
This summer starting at the end of June, I have a contract with a corporation to record, mix, and master a lot of stuff. This contract will take me all across the USA for from the beginning of June until the beginning of August (if I am lucky, I will have a little time off to drop by Audio Feed and catch Luke performing with Taking the Head of Goliath.)
So I am planning to start mixing Sylvan Fortress - Enthroned on White after my little studio tour. So Probably late August after I get the studio back up and running.
Please forgive the long-winded details, but this is the scoop. I am so grateful for the interest and patience of everyone regarding Sylvan Fortress. We are trying to be smart and build this thing for a long haul. We want to stick around for a bit.
May the Lord bless you guys, -Charles

I think it is good that you take all the time you need to produce something that satisfies you the most. Rather than fasten it up to get it done. Most of us are used to the fact that BM bands take years to release something (if ever )

So very cool of you to give a detailed update - thank you so much! I'm glad that things are booming for you and that there are lots of things on the horizon. I can't help being excited, but I will patiently await this release. Definitely better to do things right at your own pace than to rush something. It will make the release all that much better. God bless and Godspeed in this endeavor!
