I was wondering what any of you thought of this. Someone from Soundmass posted that this album was in stock and I listened to it and ordered it immediately. I'm honestly extremely surprised I'd never heard of this band before! All the lyrics are pure scripture and their sound is really unique.
I wasn't sure if it really belongs in this forum because it's not traditional black metal. It has a heavy death metal bend, some classic metal influences, clean acoustic guitar passages, a few guitar solos but is also loaded with blast beats. It's also very well produced with a huge full color booklet with lyrics in English and Russian. I'm very impressed. Anyone else know these guys?

Are The Blessed actually Christian? There's this note on Metal Archives and it's really vague/odd. There's also this interview which is also vague.

Yeah. I saw that earlier today on MA. Odd. I wonder about that considering the lyrics. It's not like there are random scriptures used, he's clearly getting across a message of salvation through Christ and separation from the world. Maybe their next release will be more telling as to where the lyrics go? Definitely some language barrier issues in the interview.

It is hard to tell where they stand from a Christian viewpoint, but the lyrics are biblical. This verse gives me peace in this matter:
Isaiah 55:11, which talks about God's word not returning empty-handed.
I really enjoy the album.
