I wanted it, so I made it. Discuss one of the bedrocks of Christian metal, their albums, their singers, their influence and of course, their drummer. Gazing at Medusa is a phenomenal album. It takes a few listens to appreciate it, I think. I got lost the first time through because there is so much going on. The singles are great. The only complaint I have is that Ripper sings on the whole album, except the title track! Those vocal duties are Deen Castronovo (sp?) and he sounds amazing. I'll probably do a track by track sometime soon.

I like this album. I always wanted to check out the band’s discography, but I didn’t give a time of day to do so. They are a legend. I like Ted Kirkpatrick’s Black Sabbath cover song, Lord of this World. The reason why is because he featured Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch. One of my favorite singers and bands. Yeah!

I used to have a Christian Metal buddy who knew the 80's and modern power metal, doom and hair metal bands. He was an angelic warlord guy who knew some of the Harder bands name and even gave me some free cd's of previous albums that were to hard or not his taste (2 mortification albums and some other bands, even demon hunter) but he talked about how good tourniquet was so I bought an earlier album by them called psychosurgery. I enjoyed a couple tracks, but just like every subgenre of Christian metal I slowly got into the doom metal scene, etc a little more and also thrash. I remember buying the Ultimatum cd Heart of Metal greatest hits album during that stage. But other than Psychosurgery I haven't took the time to listen to other tourniquet albums. I might revisit them, when I have time.

I'm really enjoying their new album. I wasn't a big fan of what was going on in the guest-musician-salad that was Onward to Freedom.
Sinister Scherzo and All Good Things Died Here are excellent tracks with good meanings. Memento Mori is another good track that's one of the slower ones. One thing I really like is that the guitar style kind of mirrors their work on the Microscopic View album, which I enjoyed heavily. Gonna give the album a few more listens to get into it more.

I haven't had the opportunity to do a proper review (because wurq...), but I have listened to this album, in it's entirety, almost every day.

A good review from The Metal ResourceI agree with much of the review, but I'd give 95/100.
