Hey everyone! Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! It’s my favorite time of the year and the one day I look forward to more than any other. I love everything about it and have since I was a kid. Nothing was better than sitting in the living room with the fireplace roaring, our Christmas tree glowing and a Christmas movie on the TV. Through the years I’ve tried to collect as many traditional Christmas movies and non traditional Christmas movies as I can. With that said, what’s everyone’s favorite non traditional Christmas movie? (Takes place on or during Christmas/Christmas time, yet isn’t the central theme of the movie) 1. Die Hard 2. Gremlins 3. Lady Vengeance 4. Batman Returns 5. First Blood 6. Gundam Wing: The Endless Waltz 7. P2 8. Planes, Trains And Automobiles 9. Prometheus 10. Battle Royale 2 Honorable Mention: Jurassic World
What’s everyone else’s?

Well, my favorite movies to watch in winter have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas lol... The Lord of the Rings / Hobbit movies. Winter is fantasy movie season... I'm not sure how/why it began... maybe because the new LotR/Hobbit movies would always come out in theaters around the holidays. Hey, I remember this movie! Good choice!

I’m right there with you! I remember buying Fellowship and Two Towers on Black Friday when I was in high school and my cousin and I watching them like crazy and then I got the director cut sets that same year for Christmas. I remember seeing Return Of The King like 10 times in theaters including Christmas Eve. So I’m totally on board with those choices.

I only saw RotK in theater 4 times...
I have all extended editions of both trilogies on Blu-Ray.

I'm actually watching through the Mythica series right now (for free on Amazon Prime). I had watched the first one long ago but now there are apparently five movies? It is actually very enjoyable. Borderline B movies but the special effects are better than most B movies. The actors do well and are likable. It's got a little bit of cheese and a whole lot of fantasy D&D feel to it. Will watch #3 in the series this weekend.
