Anyone here who likes Charlie Looker's defunct Band "Extra Life"? Yesterday or so I got the thought to again listen through their Album "Dream Seeds" when I find the time. I find this particular album of theirs like scary and beautiful. I can't exactly say why, but a few months before I made the decision for Jesus (or he made the decision that I will make the decision for him... ) I was listening heavily through this album and it somehow prepared the way for me. I don't know why or how. It has not really to do with religion or christianity, nor is where the members of the band christians. It just had this strange otherworldly atmosphere... So... tell me about your thoughts concerning "Extra Life"! Teaser (or so...) : Extra Life - Head Shrinker

Doesn't sound bad at all! The lyrics are a bit odd, but the sound is pretty good! I want to say I'm "open" to this style of music. I don't know what it's called, and I can hardly name any bands or songs in this style, but it's interesting. I really wanted to make sure I listened to this because --> "a few months before I made the decision for Jesus (or he made the decision that I will make the decision for him... ) I was listening heavily through this album and it somehow prepared the way for me." Although I didn't listen to this band, I know exactly what you're talking about. There were a bunch of things that helped to prepare the way for me as well, many of them being musical.

I don't know what it's called, and I can hardly name any bands or songs in this style, but it's interesting. I found them via a website that reviews records who fit in the wider term of "progressive rock". Classic 70s prog albums as well as newer stuff that is not this kind of retro prog but something really new. Can't say that I understand everything they sing about. Sometimes I find it hard because I miss the context of it. But, yeah, weird would fit it for me. "Dream Seeds" (the track above is not on "Dream Seeds", I just liked it) for me is a collage of nightmarish scenes somehow connected to dreams. Being a person who has mostly disturbing dreams if not nightmares it is something that I can connect to. Although I didn't listen to this band, I know exactly what you're talking about. There were a bunch of things that helped to prepare the way for me as well, many of them being musical. What kind of things did you experience? (off topic)
