I mean, I realize that this particular forum isn’t gonna exactly be “engaged” with the “modern rock” format, much less the Christian Metal variants thereof.....
But my 21 year old daughter took me and her 17 year old sister to see Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, and Underoath a couple weeks ago (and i treasure that experience beyond most things on this mortal coil.....) and I have literally JUST found out “modern Christian Rock” act Disciple is literally playing 5 minutes from my house THIS FRIDAY.
I’m going....and I’m taking as many of my peeps as I can..,..
I am almost unreasonably excited by this concept.....

I know a handful of Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, and Underoath songs. I like the overall sound these bands have, though it's not a sound I really seek out that often. Skillet's new(ish?) song "Invincible" is awesome.
The only song I know by Disciple is "Radical" which seems to be a lot heavier than their normal stuff. I've heard one or two other songs by them, and they sound cool, for sure. Have fun!

Sadly, my ENTIRE household (2 parents and 8 “kids”) managed to come down with “the flu” over the last week, and are JUST managing to recover from it.
Disciple gig was a miss, I WAS NOT going to risk infecting a touring band OR the other several hundred people in attendance at the show.
I don’t care WHAT the “opportunity” is, re: “notable names”......if you are SICK.....STAY HOME.

Hope the household gets better asap.

I've seen Disciple twice and they are great live. Their live set is much better and heavier than their recorded music. They would benefit from a live album.
That being said...I'm not a fan of many other Christian projects in the "modern rock" genre. For that matter, I'm not a huge fan of that genre to begin with.

...I may secretly like Breaking Benjamin... I would probably be a fan of Breaking Benjamin if I checked out more of their songs. As it stands, I know two ("Diary of Jane" and "So Cold") and I do like both of those songs.
