Cheers peoples,
I've been thinking about something this morning and would like your input.
We know God made us in His image, one part being our emotions and moods (humor, rationality etc.)
My question would be; do you think God ever has a "play day" where He cuts loose and "enjoys life" for lacking a better word. In my imagination, I can see God picking up a guitar and laying down some crushing riffs.

I think that's what he does in Genesis when he rests on the 7th day. Of course, all our language about God is to some extend metaphorical, since he doesn't have, for example, the human physical structure that makes it necessary for us to relax or only do one thing at a time. Also, there are translation and interpretation issues with the phrase "In His image," but I won't get into them right now.

Sometimes I think something like that might in the end be the reason for creation... a kind of majestic piece of art. I would not go so far as to say God created everything for fun and just to watch it... but I can imagine creation as being some kind of for us limited humans very terrifying and awe-inspiring personal (in some ways playful and artistic) expression of Gods personality.

I get the impression that God behaves slightly differently toward different people, the same way a parent does to children. If a child gets into trouble a lot, they probably think their parent is a "big mean poopy face stupid butt who yells all the time". A smart, well-behaved child may see the same parent as "a supportive role model", while a more "average" third child may see the same parent as "distant"* because the parent is always focusing on the other two, more extreme children.
I personally don't see God as the type to just chillax and have "fun", but that doesn't mean He isn't, necessarily. In my own life, ... well, it's a bit difficult to put into simple terms obviously. A relationship is more complex than mere words, but basically, God is more of a teacher; a role model; we could even say a "drill sergeant" or "military general" on occasion. And I'm fine with that, because that's what I need in my life. If I'm going to serve the highest good, and serve it well, then I need God to be a strong, guiding force. But even the harshest drill sergeants on earth are still "people" with complex personalities and interests. They can scream at their troops, boss them around, and even have the brute strength to defend themselves if necessary... but many of those same drill sergeants will still go back to civilian life and play games with their kids, watch TV, etc. so... who knows? Maybe God is the same way.
* Of course when God, for example, doesn't answer our prayers, He isn't "distant" in the same way that a parent is. God is strong enough to take care of all of His children without becoming tired. It's just that God makes important decisions sometimes that are very difficult to accept and understand from a human point of view, and this can make Him appear to be "distant".

Wow I love this comparison, really resonates with me.

Bob Ross was actually a drill sergeant before he became the painting guy. He hated being a drill sergeant. I realize this is going off on somewhat of a rabbit trail.

Genesis 1:26 states that we were created in God's image and "likeness". Obviously, He is immeasurably greater than we are. Because of that - I don't think its a stretch to say that whatever fun our little brains can comprehend, God can have a level of fun that is so fun our heads would explode if we even began to know how fun it was.

When you imagine a child that can not wait to meet again his/her little pals so he-she can play with them. That's how God is with us.
