So there's been talk about goregrind and death metal so why not slam!
Seeing as it has been filled with misogyny since its early stages, it isn't a very hospitable or good genre. I can understand if almost all of you don't like it. That being said I've been a fan of it since 2012. What are your thoughts on the style? Are any of you guys fans of some slam bands?

Is Abated Mass of Flesh slam? I've seen them live once and talked with several members at Audiofeed. Cool guys.
Slam is part of the constellation of subgenres that I call burp metal. Not really a fan.

Resurrected Divinity. Not entirely sure if it's legit, or satire (Tyler Johnson has a pretty weird sense of humor lol), but either way, the music is pretty solid Update 2020: According to posts on Facebook, Resurrected Divinity is a legit Christian project!

Any recommendations that have non-gory non-misogynistic lyrics? (besides Abated Mass Of Flesh)

What are your thoughts on the style? Are any of you guys fans of some slam bands? Devourment "Obscene Majesty" might just be my favorite release of 2019. Which surprises even me because I thought my favorite release of any recent year would be black metal.
I put a track in spoilers cause, not sure how someone would take the artwork - even though the cover art is pretty mild compared to their official NSFW video for this track. I'm sure the lyrics/themes are 100 forms of vile, but I honestly haven't really investigated them... they're easy to bypass since they're pretty indecipherable. (someone would have to put in quite the effort to absorb a message from this) LOL

I will have to check it out. I have to admit that I really only ever listen to Babykiller by Devourment, I should listen to some more of their stuff. but in other stuff: I have compiled three playlists of Slam. I try to keepthem updated but I will be messing around with my first to include some bands I know that should be featured. I usually keep them pretty clean from obvious misogyny but might include some that you can tell they are being brutal and gory for brutal and gory sake, not because they actually hold those attitudes (cough, cough Waking the Cadaver). www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd5vuXHqwhExmg_y_rQIRuIC6p5ua3grnwww.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd5vuXHqwhEwKaU7U3ZC4oz13jWMCAMJiwww.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd5vuXHqwhEw1jvZWIOT-EQnBCPIQQ3fuso obviously the last one is short but i'm keeping my eyes open for the next while for good current slam. And as you'll see I will sacrifice fidelity for riff quality. I will choose to not include bands with a strong deathcore sound because to me slam + deathcore = deathcore. It's just deathcore bands adding slams to their music. Very rarely do actual slam bands add deathcore riffs. So you'll see that my vol 1 playlist starts in the 2006/7 era. I need to get more into the ear years of slam but the myspace slam era is where I feel most comfortable.

While helping out on a farm near Superior, Wisconsin last summer, at one point I found myself alone in a house with just a boa constrictor, four cats, and five dogs. And I got bored and curious about this Hey Google thingamabob sitting over the snake terrarium. So I said to it: Hey Google, play some death metal...and this song came up (I liked it 😄). Where does this fit in the grand scheme of things?

haha oh no you found my youtube channel! haha, it's all good. I do actually hide my more embarrassing playlists like a myspace pop playlist. Yeah The Empty Tomb is one of my favorites. I just love Rawls' grimy production and tone. It's so to the point and brutal. It's a little sloppy but it's all in the experience.
The Pathology song is straight up brutal death metal, not really anything slammy in it. good song though.
