hi, I am very new to any metal community and i very rarely talk about metal it in general, even though it has almost completely taken over my ears for like 1~2 years, so i do tend to keep a lot of my specific interests to myself, but anyways i am a somewhat pro classical guitar player for about 9 years now, and my music taste is 50% classical music and the rest is just black metal( and some very minor exceptions within the metal genre), i wouldn't say i am knowledgeable in black metal at all or in what makes black metal musically (especially for listening to it for a while), i'm just some guy that is addicted to purely listening to it. Also i am raised christian but i do admit that i lack knowledge and faith to Jesus, because of lack of commitment, research, attention etc... however at the same time i believe this is the direction i need to work on and explore, and i won't accept anything else. That being said i have almost zero limitation on myself to what i listen too, and in a way i hate the idea of telling myself i can't listen to something no mater how blasphemous and demonic, it's not that i enjoy the offensive lyrics it's just that as much as it feels wrong, i can't deny art when i see it no matter what it is, and crossing things out feels equally wrong to me. If i were to self analyze this, i would just say that even though i like expressions of beauty, holiness, peace, love and elegance in music i equally love expressions of uncensored hate, evil, restlessness, suffering and overall darkness... whatever gives me chills will attract me. Favorite non-christian bands include: Watain(musically doesn't get old, kind of defines my general taste in metal), Xasthur, Hadanfard, Bethlehem(specifically dictus, those vocals man...), Bathory, Leviathan, Striborg, Forteresse, early Dodfodd, All of the classic Norwegian bands, and from the christian side of things: Antestor, Panegyrist(most uplifing thing i have ever heard in metal), Lo-Ruhamah, eh anything related to Emil Lundin, some Elgibbor moments, maybe Slechtavlk, Gnophos, Skald in veum, Frost like Ashes (sometimes compels me with it's violence).

Welcome!
I know I do not overstep my bounds to say that this community welcomes you with open arms, and we all hope to truly call you “friend” when we get to know each other.
Personally....the Christian people on this forum have allowed me to be far more “honest” about my own life struggles than any other online community I have EVER been a part of, no matter WHAT they might be. Even when I give egregious “offense”, these people have lifted me up in the spirit of true brotherhood.
I hope you can call this place “home”....

This was basically my life up until 2014. I hope and pray that we can give you, the same things the scene gave to me... Some advice I could give, is: Don't view this scene through the lens of social media. A lot of social media is just drama and complaining. View this scene for what it is: an underground movement for the dark hearts of this world. Hail the Creator of darkness! -l- -l- -l- i equally love expressions of uncensored hate, evil, restlessness, suffering and overall darkness... You are not alone in this! anfauglith talks about this a lot, and a few other members have mentioned it too. I myself agree to an extent, except... for various reasons, I tend to avoid Satanic/occult/etc music nowadays. But I do love dark, angry Christian music. eh anything related to Emil Lundin You would probably like IHS. That project is influenced a LOT by Malacht, Dödfödd, etc. Incidentally, if you like "expressions of uncensored hate", you may like this black/noise EP I did last year. It's basically just venting some negative emotions I was dealing with, but with a Christian message.

You would probably like IHS. Actually i have already heard of IHS and i indeed like his stuff, Especially his "cursed be man", that distinguishably hateful riff really took me by surprise, reminded me of "lost wisdom" by you know what, he definitely knows what hes doing. Incidentally, if you like "expressions of uncensored hate", you may like this black/noise EP I did last year. It's basically just venting some negative emotions I was dealing with, but with a Christian message. i just checked it out, and i really enjoyed it, the vocals are creepy asf and fit the instrumentation, but most of all the vibe of the music itself perfectly fits what inspired it, very good!!! also that piano in the background is trippy and a really nice touch
