Two suggestions for the Bandcamp pages for VoG releases. 1) Include the subgenre of metal for each release, either in the album title (this is the way that Transcending Obscurity Records does it) or in the description. The tags are often vague (and sometimes have to be for SEO purposes). In the case of Transcending Obscurity, for example, I know which of their releases I want to check out and which ones I want to skip, just by looking at the album title. roR 2) Include similar artists/FFO (for fans of) in the description of the albums. This has been a big factor in me checking out new metal bands. If a band is described as sounding like Tool, or Wolves in the Throne Room, or Gojira, I'll check them out immediately. It would also be helpful for people new to the Christian scene who want to find something that sounds like a given secular band. "Why don't you just listen to the music to find out what it sounds like?" When I'm browsing Bandcamp, I'm usually already listening to music. If a band's description looks interesting, or I'm sure they're in a subgenre I'll like, then I'll add them to the wishlist or queue up one of their songs. There are so many bands on Bandcamp that a band really needs to grab my attention before I listen to them. I'm sure other people feel the same way.
