I'm looking for secular thrash albums (especially from the 80's and early 90s) that don't have any blasphemous, anti-Christian, or gratuitously immoral lyrics. I have a lot of Megadeth, early Metallica, Metal Church, Exodus - Fabulous Disaster, Annihilator - Never, Neverland, and Viking - Man of Straw. What else is out there?

Mindforce is my favorite thrash band, although they are more crossover/metalcore than straight thrash. Highly recommended--in my top 5 metal bands. They use a lot of profanity, but none of their songs are blasphemous or anti-Christian. Guilt Trip is Mindforce-lite. High Command is good thrash. All of their lyrics are about sword and sorcery fantasy, so nothing objectionable there. Some of Artillery's music is anti-religious, but on the albums I have the lyrics tend to be both clean and vague. The only song by Power Trip I know is "Swing of the Axe (Executioner's Tax)," which you need to check out now if you don't already know it. It is 100% radio clean; I can't speak to the rest of their work. All of these are newer bands other than Artillery.

I looked through my collection. I have less thrash than I thought I have. Anyhow, here are the following bands that may or may not interest you. Your mileage may vary in terms of what constitutes good music/acceptable lyrics, but nothing here is overtly blasphemous or anti-Christian. Space Chaser: thrash with sci-fi themes. Steel Inferno: thrash with high-pitched vocals. Vulture: all horror fiction themes as far as I can tell. Vocals are buried deep in the mix and drenched in reverb. Your mileage may vary. Quickfire: "Progressive Thrash" from Russia. Can't find any lyrics on Metal Archives. I didn't care for it personally, but someone else might enjoy it. Paranorm: I've listened to about one song by this band and liked them. Progressive thrash with some light death metal vocals. Manacle: "Witches Hollow" might be objectionable, but everything else on No Fear to Persevere is clean. May be more speed metal than thrash. Legions of War: Blackened Thrash. Deceased: Death/Thrash. Lyrics are all about zombies. Jenner: All female thrash. Hazzerd's first album. Assault: the Singapore death/thrash band, not one of the million other bands named "Assault." Metal Archives lists them as "Melodic Death Metal." They are not. Agnostic Front played crossover thrash after their first two EPs through most of the 80s. Despite their name and some of their imagery, most of their lyrics are not blasphemous, though I'm sure they have their obligatory "We're punks and hate Christianity" song somewhere. Their lyrics do tend to be very violent, reflecting the world that the band Cro-Mags' first album is legendary crossover thras. All of these bands are relatively new except for Legions of War, Agnostic Front, and Cro-Mags.

I don't really understand the lyrics, but a prog/thrash band called Аспид (/Aspid) released an amazing album in 1993. Кровоизлияние (/Krovoizliyaniye). Please note, if you're interested in this and want to buy it, there are certain remasters where the music is artificially sped up. Apparently these sound awful. Like really bad. I haven't heard these versions, but just be aware.
