Dat new song is AMAZING. I suspected that Paul was the source of Meh for quite a few albums... since Gian was out for Damnation and a Day and up until Manticore, I felt like the albums were really lackluster. (Well, except Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder and Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa, I thought those were above average releases.)
The new band members made a HUGE difference.
Hammer of the Witches, judging from one song, made me feel like I was listening to Cruelty and the Beast or Bitter Suites to Succubi in some places.... especially with the new girl/keyboardist presence and looooooooong riffs. So glad for the long riffs.
Do want. I haven't been this excited for a Cradle of Filth release since Midian!!!

Haven't heard it yet, but will check it out. I've listened to Manticore some more through the last weeks and it really grew on me. When I first heard it I wasn't very excited as well.

Cradle of Filth used to be good. Haven't followed them since the Nymphetamine record.

Same happened to me, first time I heard Manticore it was ok but then it grew on me. The new album is pretty good, I feel like the new members gave CoF its life back. When I heard the new album I got excited because it felt like the old days with tempo changes, female vocals and stuff...

Love "Hammer of the Witches". It's my second favorite album of the year so far!
