Greetings,
My name is Thomas Eversole. I created this forum to be a safe-haven for all those interested in black metal created by Christians as well as "Christian black metal". More on that later, but I'd like to preface by saying all black metal artists and listeners, regardless of belief or creed are welcome.
My first musical project was a Christian black metal release, GRIM - Scepter of Blood. I've also had other Christian death/black metal releases. Akryal - Cimmerian Lethargy. Breviarium - An Overwhelming Sense One Day. Grim - Vespers. EverSoul.
I've also had projects that weren't Christian, or even Christian related. Phelicia's Entrails was from a particular dark period of my life, with violent and vulgar lyrics. Escaping that dark period, my current project Ankou Awaits is based on Welsh Mythology when Christianity took over Ireland - not about Christ per-say, but lyrics about the Ankou, (a being that the Grim Reaper stories come from) who takes the souls of the living to where they spend eternity... (a neutral perspective of spirituality)
I think too many Christian black metal listeners segregate themselves from black metal that isn't completely Christ centered. I'm not talking about avoiding lyrics that go against one's beliefs - I can understand that completely and that's not segregation. Years ago, I would watch action and thrilling movies that aren't Christian, listen to other genres of music that aren't Christian, but recoil from black metal that innocently enough has the same themes. It took a spiritual awakening to realize that I was limiting the art and my audience - which was stunting what I was ultimately trying to accomplish.
As a follower of Christ, I'm strong enough to exercise my art for my entertainment, and let my belief system to be an asset to those who want it. This has helped me expand by black metal pallet and my own musical abilities. I hope that one day, all things black metal (Christian or not) can set aside our differences and share an ultimate mutual respect.

In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoy's their place here! I want to keep this place as open as possible. This board will be ran very liberally - as an "open door" forum. There's nothing wrong with an argument that creates resolution, but namecalling, deliberate/personal attacks and obscene imagery will not be tolerated.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to the topics!
