I think most of us think that we HAVE to use a funeral home for our burial/cremation.
...but there's more choices in death care than that, and its COMPLETELY legal.
I really like how this mortician/funeral home owner goes to more traditional (as in hundreds or thousands of years ago) "death care" practices.
There's the home funeral option. (where families can "take care" of their dead at home) ...instead of having strangers do it at a stuffy and corporate building. Its perfectly safe, there's no risk of disease and a properly cared for dead body will NOT stink even after a few days.
There's "witness cremation" option, where family members can actually view the entire cremation process and even "press the start button".
...and there's the "natural burial" option. No casket. No embalming. Just the body, in the ground.

Since I subscribe to her YouTube channel "Ask a Mortician", I personally know her favorite cultural "burial" practice.
(though its not currently legal in our neck of the woods)
Tibetan Sky Burial
This is where the bodies are placed high on a mountain/tower, seasoned with spices (yes, like food) and left to be devoured by vultures.
It sounds like something from a horror movie, but the idea is actually more of a "giving back to nature" and "going back into the sky", and of course, meant with the ultimate respect.
Since death kills 100% of people worldwide, and none of us are making it off this planet alive, have you guys thought about what you would like to have done with your shell after you die?
