Sorry the label didn't pan out. Love the vocals. Do the drums pick up in any of those tracks?

I think I'm gonna need to get this. Will there be physical copies? At some point, yes. Hopefully we can make something off the digital sales to put towards a physical release. So far though, not a single person has done the digital pre-order, thanks to facebooks bullshit posting policies. Out of the 1100 people who like the Maugrim page, only 86 people saw the initial announcement, 13 saw it the second time we posted it, and 6 people the third.

ahhhh you need to study your posting habits and find the best time to make posts. Basic marketing strategies. There are certain times of day that your target audience are on facebook. You need to spend time to figure out when that is. So a good way of doing this is by planning out a whole week of announcement posts and schedule them one per day at different hours of the day. After the week, examine the data and find what time of day gets the most reach and capitalize on that time of day. I find evenings between 4-7 PM PST are the best time for me to post stuff. After you do that, study what type of posts get the most exposure: just text, picture with text, video with text, or link with text. this is just stuff that can be fixed by basic marketing know-how. Something else to try is to utilize all your distro connections and ask them to help promote your stuff (for a free download or whatever). Send Depressive Visions a message for sure, that dude is AWESOME!!!

That seems like a huge massive headache. I wouldn't do any of that.

Well I am kinda wanting to be a marketing major, so this is more exurbant fun rather than a headache. I'm a Sociology major though because I hated business classes and love learning about social issues.

Cool article. I don't know if it's my phone or because I don't do Facebook, but I don't see where it says the stream is.

A couple riffs on the Primordial Venom track kind of lost me but wowzers on The Poison, The Pestilence, The Pain. That's extremely solid. What's the difference between a pre-order and an order for digital downloads when I can listen to it? Are there more tracks or something?

I mean, we got 500 plays in less than 48 hours, which is cool. And a guy from metal injection contacted us about doing a review.
It just allows you to have the tracks on whatever platform you'd like, and helps us press the album with the funds. The bandcamp phone app limits how many times someone can listen to an album before insisting they buy it, so it's only really unlimited streaming if you are on a computer.

Yeah, with bandcamp, you can setup how many streams people can get. 3 to unlimited. Doesn't matter which device you use to stream.

Huh, never had it stop me on a computer, maybe it was set to more than 3. Although "free/pay what you want" will still stop you until you download it.

When I set my Eversoul classical piano music to free to download, I had to agree that Bandcamp will actually charge ME for downloads if there gets to be "too many" of them. I agreed to it, but I thought that was ridiculous.

It costs money to run that site and I don't see anything wrong with charging people to use their service. A bummer, no doubt, but fair nonetheless IMO.

Any way to get any of the pre-Nothing, Bare stuff? I've been digging Maugrim and was hoping for more material. I'm zero percent making a general statement, but for me personally: no other band I've heard sounds like Maugrim. ... So I need more!

We'd personally like to forget that album existed though. I knew nothing of song structure and writing music when I made it, and am embarrassed by it. They Gather In the Darkness is gone as far as I know, I've thought about repressing it though.

While I wouldn't say that the album is amazing, it certainly isn't bad. I've heard far, far worse music than that.

Working on a new project currently with a friend of mine, and I will admit, I write fantastic guitar riffs, but I'm not satisfied with my consistency to play them whatsoever so I've been considering finding someone else to record them. I guess it's just one of those things, where you put something out there and need it to be absolutely perfect. If people enjoy Paths of the Damned, that's cool and all, but I won't even consider it to be Maugrim material at this point.
