Anyone else here like murder ballads? Either musically or historically, or both?

I'm not sure what a murder ballad is, but I'm going to say... yes?

Are murder ballads genre specific?
Cause the stuff I found on YouTube gives me mixed emotions.
The bluegrass / ancient country stuff, that's good. The Glee type high school musical stuff.... NOnononononoNONONONONONO.
No.

Hmm... I don't know the glee stuff, thankfully. Mostly they are based around lyrics though, and the stories that they came from, since they are all more or less true. There are rock, punk, metal etc. versions, but most are old time, country, folk and blue grass. So they aren't genre specific, but they are fairly well linked to certain genres. Pop versions of them would just be weird, heh.
