I also didn't enjoy Entering... not so much. I haven't heard the Cold Ice album maybe it is also an improvement.
This one is quite better. Maybe I will add a sample track unto youtube.

I tried to get their latest (Dimensions of Shadow) from VoG but they ended up being out of stock. Thank God for that. Would I get the Dimmu references there? No. I never liked Dimmu back in the day. Yup, that sums it up perfectly. You never listened to them, that's why you wouldn't notice the "references". (References?... seriously...) Please, stop being so biased about it .

Orationem - Trve Holy Black Metal Much appreciated brother! It is me who should thank you, sir, for making good music. I went back and watched your music video again last night and I really dig the songwriting. Unrelated: there's a copy of Roots of Tragedy on Discogs that I'm thinking about buying... should I? I've spent a lot of $$$ on music in the last few weeks... lol... but it's the first time I've seen a copy available in years.

Last thing I purchased? Pre-ordered the new AHTDU......from Target, specifically so Adam and Michael could say they've had their music sold at a major chain retailer.....πππ

Yeah I haven't pre-ordered that yet. Maybe I should start thinking about it. I can probably cash in some Swagbucks for a gift card and get it nearly free. Ah, the digital age.

I will always....ALWAYS......happily be the guy that does stupid things like this for my buddies I don't have a Target in my town lol... guess I'll have to see what my options are. I could pre-order it at FYE.com but they don't have pick up in store option and I don't really want to drive all the way to Knoxville or Sevierville (1 hr+ drive) for Target or BestBuy unless I have other things to do in the city. I rarely have to go out of town anymore because my town is pretty big and has lots of things. We are even getting an Olive Garden. Now if they'd just put Chipotle here and maybe a Trader Joe's, I'd never have a reason to leave.

I've listened to the album 4-5 times and it's not painful to listen to it, if that helps. I think it's an interesting amalgam of metalcore and melodeath. It would be more interesting to a big fan of metalcore looking to get into death metal than the other way around. I thought the metalcore vocals were competent but not exemplary. I would give it a spin or two before committing to buy it. Just my two cents.

Just think if The Burial (In The Taking Of Flesh era) and Extol combined and made an album, because that's basically what happened. One thing I find interesting about the album is that it's 50 straight minutes of this kind of music with hardly any reprieve (no softer or instrumental material), so it was a bit of a slog, but in the end it's very rewarding.

Adam and Michael could say they've had their music sold at a major chain retailer.....πππ What's really cool is that some retailers will work with local artists on a consignment level. Back in 99-00, there were GRIM - Scepter of Blood CDs at Walmart and the mall in Springfield, IL. I haven't taken this approach in a while, (I'll not open the can of worms regarding my opinion with consignment) though there are some Ankou Awaits - Oberour Ar Maro CDs still for sale in Springfield. XD Still, that's different than being a distributor where the album is available in ALL stores. HAHA!! Pretty major accomplishment for AHTDU!!!

I have the EP ready to download on Friday.. I got a code for a free copy from the band on Facebook so I went and bought a t-shirt on Amazon to help support the band! I'm finding it very difficult to resist the urge to listen to Sore Upon Sore (was going to wait until release day..)

The single is catchy though, it was stuck in my head all day Sore! Upon Sore!

Godspeed You! Black Emperor's new album, 'Luciferian Towers'! This band is freaking awesome. Complex sound and -- actually, rather than repeat what I wrote before, you can read my brief thoughts on the band here: theblackestlight.freeforums.net/post/12457/thread

[Thomas/CW! how do I do that thing to link to another post in a post?]. If you click the gear in the top-right corner of a post, there should be a "Link to Post" option. It'll pull up a menu that gives you the link so you can copy it into your post.

Congrats! Oh and I recently got The Raise the Dead Australian metal compilation also, for the Vomoth track. I like the other bands on it too which is a huge plus. Probably come in the mail next week.
