Kerrick: I know their free EP, but I haven't taken a close listen yet. Might have to do that, their EP is simply amazing! Love their melodic approach.

You bet! I think I got one of the last copies of their tape. The guys from the band who I have interacted with online are cool blokes.

Do you like it, Thomas? I'm curious to hear your opinion on it. I've listened to the whole album through, even a few tracks a couple times. The bottom line is, I agree completely with Eulogium. I "tried" to like it. Here's what I do like: - the (un)production, (but I have a personal passion for things raw and grungy) - the mix is good, - the themes are good. (I like the soft/mellow parts, and the harsh black metal parts interchanging) - Some of the riffs are "above average" - The variety of instruments used is good - The artwork/logo is awesome, and my opinion, adds or takes away from the album presentation. In this case, it adds! Here's what I don't like: - Structure, structure, structure. I'm not intending to be mean by saying this, but I can't think of a better way to describe it. The songs repeat themselves more than Tom Green. It would be one thing to repeat that much if the riffs were mindblowingly awesome, complex or long, but many of them are very short, rather basic and not catchy. - The drummer "struggles" in too many spots. There's changing tempo because its a different beat, and then there's the tempo dragging ever so much slower because the physical strength/stamina isn't there to maintain the beat. Unfortunately, it sounds like this release has the latter. The most popular example I can think of with a band that does this is either one of the Abyssos albums - it really tarnishes a release. Unfortunately, the "don't like's" ruin the listening enjoyment for this release. In closing, I hope no one thinks I'm "against Christian metal" or "against Jesus" because I don't like "one of His releases". Totally not true. (I got to say it because I've been accused of it before)

Vials of Wrath is indeed a fantastic band. DC Mills should be releasing a new album this year.
Hungry Vultures is a project of Lord of the Night, the guy behind Dark Woods. It's slow, old-school atmospheric black metal. It's pretty good but not amazing; I'd give it like a 6.5/10.

I saw the documentary twice before I received the dvd, and it is really nice! Now I'm looking forward to the bonus disc contents like: Deleted and extended feature scenes. Live performances from three decades. Never-before-seen archive material.

Holy Blood - Day of Vengeance.
I haven't heard anything from this release - I literally bought it because the front cover of a slavic warrior with a decapitated baphomet is just freaking cool haha.
