So my Beeroth - Total Annihilation came in the mail and I'm hoping it's not bootleg. I know it was CDR so that's not what concerns me. The back artwork "ExhortMetal" logo is a little fuzzy... is that just the way they are? Someone confirm? I think CW has this release, right?
Oh and also, I recently ordered Antestor - Det Tapte Liv Ltd. Ed. near-mint and that completes my Antestor collection (well, I don't have the original demos but I have The Defeat of Satan so I consider that good enough).
Now if I could just find Crimson Moonlight - Eternal Emperor I'd complete my CM collection (minus cassette demo, meh).
Frosthardr - Makteslos is my new 'holy grail' (other than Eternal Emperor EP).

^Yup that's how my copy of Total Annihilation was too (and my Hortor CD as well). I think that's just how the Exhort CDs are. Pretty trve grim kvlt...

I finally picked up Revulsed - Infernal Atrocity. Pretty stoked! On a less metal note, I'm going to start collecting Starflyer 59 soon. I've always had a few of their releases and always loved them but never explored their catalog in depth so it's time to change that! Terrific listen, enjoyed that more than I thought I would first time.

I've been trying to catch up with all the new Christian metal releases, but it's hard with so many coming out. Recent notable purchases I made: Vardoger - Ghost Notes (I like it!) Revulsed - Infernal Atrocity Haste the Day - Coward A Hill to Die Upon - Holy Despair Antestor - Omen Skald in Veum - 1260 Days
Also, a couple other CDs I bought in January: Dream Theater - The Astonishing (Haven't listened to the whole thing yet, it's over 2 hours long!!!) Baroness - Purple (AMAZING!!!)

I haven't listened to Baroness in a long time but I'm a huge fan of all things stoner doom metal. I'll tell you what I really like: sludge metal. I have all releases from Weedeater and Bongzilla but try to stay away from the more occult inspired lyrics for personal reasons. Baroness isn't pure stoner doom or sludge but I figured you may be a fan of all things doom? It's like my one guilty pleasure. In all other metal I stick with Christianity-inspired lyrics but there just isn't any Christian stoner/sludge metal to speak of. The only one with that heavy Sabbath-inspired sound to my knowledge was Starchild. Only two full lengths and a split EP. I have them all. Anyway, recent purchases. It was a really good Friday after I stopped at the post office on lunch break:

there just isn't any Christian stoner/sludge metal Dustt. It seems that like half of his discography is stoner/doom, and the other half is more rock-oriented. As for sludge, there are ten bands on Metal Archives. I don't think I've ever heard any of them, though. Except, like, one song from Mose Giganticus.

Never thought to search MA for stoner/sludge with Christianity lyrical themes (though I've done it a couple times for black metal). Silly me.

I'm trying to withhold my excitement and relief but I finally got Crimson Moonlight - Eternal Emperor (it just has to arrive safely from overseas). I overpaid but whatever, I've wanted it for a long time.
Now, all that's left on my list of stuff I absolutely have to own is Frosthardr - Makteslos and Vaakevandring s/t (2004).

It was a really good Friday after I stopped at the post office on lunch break: The new Baroness is awesome! The singles (Shock Me and Chlorine & Wine) are my favorite tracks. I literally couldn't find Vardoger's new album anywhere except for Nordic Mission, so I just caved and bought it there. I think it was worth paying the extra for it though. I've never listened to Starchild, I think I'll check them out!

Dude you will not be disappointed with Vardoger. Definitely worth whatever you paid at NM, guaranteed!

Good man! Depending how long "coming soon" means... you may want to wait to buy it from SkyBurnsBlack.

Yeah I'll pick it up @ SBB then probably. I got my Det tapte liv & In War Against Satan in the mail... Eternal Emperor will come probably next week...
2016 has already been a great year: I've picked up some rare stuff in addition to Divine Darkness.
I'm going to order the new Orationem right now also.
Man, what a good year and it's only March.

I found Falconry and The Defeat of Satan already this year. Pretty successful for me too.

I ordered:
Orationem - Pure Peace and Joy, Love and Kindness Hope for the Dying - Legacy (progressive death metal, heard really good things about this release from a surprisingly amazing Facedown Records band, I already own their previous two releases)

Don't dis Facedown, bro. I have a confession: I've been listening to more 'core than black metal lately...

Don't dis Facedown, bro. I have a confession: I've been listening to more 'core than black metal lately... I own several Facedown releases; love the record label. Though artistry and technicality is not what Facedown is usually known for - rather, most Facedown releases are simply brutal. There are exceptions though, Hope for the Dying are one of them. That's all I meant, bro. :-D

Ah. I thought you were implying that most Facedown bands were bad.

So today I went to a local used book/CD store. They have a very small selection and it's rare that I ever find anything that I want there (I did find the ABR album Leveler there though, and it's great). I managed to find a copy of Revolution Transmission by Stretch Arm Strong for only three bucks. It doesn't get much better than that. It's the kind of hardcore that I've been searching for lately. Less clean vocals would have been nice though...

I have a confession: I've been listening to more 'core than black metal lately... Nothing wrong with that. I got a few core releases I spin regularly. Just don't go to the dark side and get a combover or glasses... or whatever hardcore guys wear. I don't want to have an intervention.

I don't wear my glasses. ...and I would so have a combover if I could grow hair. LOL
Not really, but you know. Having hair is also black metal.

I'm certainly not copying a man who posts run-on sentences! [actually] [bees] I'm just joking with you, buddy. Edit: LOL I thought about using the kissing smiley in this post for the laughs. I typed it in there and then decided that I didn't want it because I didn't want to be as weird as Kerrick. I meant to delete it before I sent the post but forgot to. Now it's gone.

I can't help it sometimes a stream of consciousness just comes pouring out. The irony of that sentence was fantastic.

Back to the brutality of Facedown Records: one of my favorite releases on the label is Those Who Fear's debut. Talk about aggressive! That album gets all in my face, then melts my face, then mops up my face mess from the floor and breaks the mop handle in two.

Having hair that goes halfway down your back is the kvltest hair you can have. Up until my late 20's when it started getting thin, that's how long my hair was. If I can afford it later in life, when I'm healthy again, I'm going to see about hair transplants or something. Definitely miss my hair.
