Just wondering who the "big three" are. Antestor and Crimson Moonlight (in no particular order) are the top two. What is the third, in terms of popularity (an oxymoron in Christian extreme metal to be sure, but nonetheless you know what I mean)?

I'd definitely put Horde in there.

Does Kekal count? They've received quite a bit of secular attention, although apparently they're not even a band anymore (but instead an "institution" of some sort) and they don't play black metal anymore, but there's no denying that at least their first 2-4 albums were Christian black metal.
Drottnar and Horde also crossed my mind as they seem to be pretty big names. The secular scene seemed to hate Horde a lot but at least they knew about him.
Slechtvalk is a big name and they got a lot of secular attention, especially for their most recent album.
I'd argue that bands like Vaakevandring deserve to be on that list. Although certainly not as popular as Antestor and CM, I'd say they were above Vials of Wrath and AHtDU in terms of popularity despite the fact that they only had one demo that was released three times.
Vials of Wrath maybe has a place on the list, but I don't know if DC has really been in the scene enough to be considered a "popular" Christian black metal act (obviously you have to use that word very loosely when it comes to our scene). His music is fantastic of course, but I don't think I would call him third most popular.
After all this rambling, my vote goes to Kekal.

I'd say Horde myself. Even though its essentially one album , they've been around forever and are pretty notorious. Literally notorious.

Well, how would you define "popular" I guess? In terms of being most famous, yeah, probably Horde. Historically they're (he's) pretty important. Musically though... it's a decent album but hardly gets any play from me. In terms of who gets most listens, I'd probably guess A Hill To Die Upon. I guess looking 'em all up on Spotify or something could yield some answers. Then there's this: www.googlefight.com/horde-vs-a+hill+to+die+upon.php

I did Antestor vs. AHtDU and AHtDU won 100 to 1. I don't know if that site is really accurate enough...

Yeah I knew the list was incomplete I was just trying to cover the major subgenres. I agree that Kekal, Vaakevandring, Drottnar, and Slechtvalk all deserve mentions. I just knew if I started listing every band that I felt deserved to be there it would end up being a mile long because of how much I love metal.
I agree that VoW was questionable but I know they are incredibly popular among us here so I figured they must be popular with all Christian black metal heads.
I'm going to vote Horde for the reasons already mentioned, though it's such a hard choice.

Looks like two people voted VoW, so I guess it was worth putting them on the list.

I'd be inclined to think that Horde and Ancestor are the two MOST popular, with CM coming in third. Kekal certainly deserves to be in that mix, though.
