Dangit I can't keep up! There is just too much good music getting released! I have on pre-order:
Signum Regis Skald in veum A Sickness Unto Death Vardoger
Then there are these bands' new albums that I haven't bought yet:
Njiqahdda Ahab Angra
Plus a bunch of other CDs that are on my want list. I wish I was rich and had tons of time to listen to it all! Anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed with so much good music?

Yeah, there's a lot. This is what's on my list that I plan on buying and haven't yet:
Skald in Veum Day of Ascension Opus Majestic
I might end up buying Hazeroth as well.

Well I ordered the new Kauan too which I had shamefully forgotten about. (If y'all aren't familiar with them... change that! They're a very good band that mixes black metal, doom metal, folk, and post-rock seamlessly.)
But now I'm just getting antsy with all these great albums still yet to be released!

I'm not as excited for Skald as I hoped I would be because I've already heard four of the six songs. However, I can only remember two of them (Inferno and Siaren) and I can't remember the latter very well, so I still have some excitement for it.
For those wondering, Drunk with Tainted Blood, Eden Raped, and Siaren all used to be posted on YouTube but were eventually taken down as far as I am aware.

How dare you, stop YouTubing upcoming releases! [zombiechase]

The new Ahab had some good moments, but fell extremely short of The Giant, in my opinion. I thought it would be my top album of the year, but it's not even in my top ten anymore.

^Ah that's too bad to hear! I had high hopes... The Giant is very good, though I doubt if they'll ever top The Call Of The Wretched Sea. That album is an absolute masterpiece. While I miss the crushing heaviness of that album, I do enjoy the more melodic direction they're going too.

For the longest time I thought the same, but after delving into The Giant hundreds of times now, I think it tops CotWS.

The Giant is a very good album. Anatartica... is one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs. I'll have to give it another spin soon!

Hah, tell me about it brother! Actually, I feel a bit convicted for spending so much money on records per month. Need to be more careful about my finances.

I picked up both recent Revived by Light releases and I recommend both of them.
The Opus Majestic compilation is cool if you're a fan of the band. Side A contains what I assume are demo tracks and Side B contains a mix of various songs, one of which I think is live.
Day of Ascension is really cool. It's very pure, cold American CBM. Very solid riffing. It reminds me a little bit of early Eulogium for some reason but more refined and less atmospheric. At times, it also seems to have a bit of a Seeking Refuge-era Vials of Wrath feel to it.
