I was stuck in a show hole after finishing Nurse Jackie so I decided I needed a new show. This is a really funny TV show about friends who own an Irish pub in PA. Been watching it lately on Hulu. It had been recommended to me by a few friends over the years but I never got around to checking it out. I wish the gang didn't use the 'GD' verbage quite so often, but still the show is hilarious. Anyone else like this show?

On my way to Chicago (3.5 hours there and back) my brother had this show going on in the DVD player 80% of the time. I don't watch much "shows" like this, but its ok.
I would file this under a show that's (more) fun to watch with someone who thinks its funny. Kind of the "Bob and Tom" effect. When someone else is laughing with it, its funnier. Reminds me of watching TGIF with my grandma and she was ROLLING at everything Steve Urkel said on family matters. I was more apt to laugh too. Watching it on my own, yeah, its funny - not enough for me to laugh.
Danny Devito's character is definitely the best one.
The characters on this show I think are quite stupid - I mean that from a legitmate intelligence standpoint, not as an insult. I mean, the lady's cat gets stuck in the wall, so they tie a string to another cat to get him out. When that string breaks, then more cats. Then she gets stuck in the wall. I mean, come on.
To me, if I want stupid, I want REALLY stupid - like Ernest P Worrell stupid. Now that's funny. Midk? Naw, authentic Bulgarian MIAK.

Lol I definitely get where you are coming from and I figured the show is not for everyone. I find the blurred line between serious comedy and ridiculous comedy (leading toward the ridiculous) is part of the charm. Maybe I was just desperate for a sitcom.

Sitcoms definitely aren't my thing, but at least IASiP didn't have the cliche laugh track with it.

I used to really love this show and own the first six or seven seasons (plus the Christmas special). Somehow along the way my tastes have changed some and my interest in the show has waned. It's got some really genuinely hilarious stuff though!
