Now both links that say "this" work for me.

Great! Well now that we got THAT figured out... how about that Far Beyond?

Well, I'm not sure that it's entirely figured out. I still don't know why the first "this" originally only opened this thread for me while it seemed to open the thread and Bandcamp for you. Which browser are you using?
I thought it sounded pretty cool. Not amazing though.

The "this" opened this thread for me but I think that was user error just copying/pasting the wrong URL, not an issue with the forum itself. That's why I said it worked. Thomas said it was a blank link but it sounds like that was an issue with Tapatalk or his phone/browser. And just copying/pasting the bandcamp link worked fine and took me to the proper site. I'm using Firefox.

Oh, that clears things up. I thought you said it opened two tabs - Bandcamp and The Blackest Light.

Wow. I did too much to derail this thread. Haha! Anyway, I'll just quote myself again to get back on topic. Oh no! They pulled a Wintersun! (exchanged "extreme" elements for "epic" ones) What a bummer!

I never thought they were really ever that "extreme" to begin with, though the debut full-length is primarily harsh vocals. The EP that followed it though is almost entirely clean vocals and is particularly not extreme IMO (though very enjoyable and gets a ton of plays from me!).

Story of my life. I like this band a lot. Excited for the album. I like the harsh vocals being more prominent.

Same here on the harsh vocals preference.
I guess I didn't hear the EP? I only remember what I'd heard of them before having harsh vocals.

Gotcha. This is the first song from the EP and it oftentimes gets stuck in my head.

Yeah. Don't really like that at all. Sorry.

Yeah it's definitely not for everyone. I like it though.

Triple-post, someone ban this guy... I've been really enjoying this album a lot since I got it. It's very epic/triumphant sounding and I could see how folks might think it's corny or too over-the-top, though if you're in the mood for something dramatic, melodic, and that will get your blood pumping, I definitely recommend it. So far the title track is my favorite I think:

It's really cool - a black metal / power metal hybrid. I don't think it's "too" corny or over-the-top (could such a thing even exist?), but yeah, I think I might have to specifically be in the mood to listen to the style to fully appreciate it.
