Okay, for those who don't know I work in the medical equipment industry. I process orders from doctors and hospitals for patients to have home medical equipment. I had something hilarious happen today and wanted to share it.
So this guy walks in, t-shirt and shorts right, average looking guy, and walks up to my counter and sits a piece of paper on my desk and starts writing on it and says he is going to order a nebulizer for someone. I said okay. I asked if he was a physician, he said yes. Okay no problem. Now... I ask what kind of insurance the patient has. He says he doesn't know, tries to call them on his cell phone, doesn't get an answer, and proceeds to ask me how to word the prescription. I tell him how to word it and he asks me if I need anything else to process the order. I tell him that I won't know what exactly I need until I know what kind of insurance the patient has. I ask him if the patient has had a face to face visit... he says, "What?" I ask again... he said, "Oh... yes.... I work with this lady, I see her 10 hours a day..." I said, okay, I may need to get a copy of the face to face notes for insurance if they require prior authorization... I ask if the face to face notes will be available... he says, "Yes, no problem, I can bulls**t those." He is nearly done writing the prescription at this point so I say, I'm sorry sir I won't be able to fill that prescription. He says, "Why???" I say, "Because you just stood there and told me you were going to bulls**t the notes. That is fraud." LOL Okay so he becomes upset at this point, throws the prescription at me, and walks out. HAHAHA turns out he is an anesthesiologist so he won't be ordering any nebulizers... everyone got a big kick out of it.... I'm guessing he was probably flirting with a nurse and he was gonna "handle it" and order them a nebulizer xD he picked the wrong medical professional, I'm straight edge by the book homiez. Lol.
