I've been really looking forward to this for a loooooooooong time and it'd seem they're finally releasing their album! I've known the two members from the old Becoming The Archetype forum from forever ago and have been eagerly awaiting this! Check it out:

Wow, I really like the aesthetics, I am a big fan russian-influenced art! If anyone else is into that stuff, you should check out artist named Ivan Bilibin. Not that the music is bad either, I mean

Dude from this band just posted on the CMR. (in the Orationem thread there) I invited him to this forum.

About damn time. I used to live by one of the members and hang out with him all the time. Had some stuff in the works with him, but then I moved.

Hey, this is Ethan from Hesychast. Thanks to anybody who has listened so far! I'm pretty excited about the material we're releasing. As for the release date, we're kinda trying to gauge how much interest there is in the project and from that we'll determine the amount of physical copies to print. Should be within the next month or so.
Glad to see this place exists and there are still people interested in Unblack Metal, by the way.

This sounds fantastic, a little reminiscent of Lengsel - Solace. I can't wait to get my hands on the album!

Other question...
Is the Vikarbyrgi material somewhere still to find?

I went outside and walked around while listening to this album tonight. It was the perfect night to do so. It wasn't too hot, it was a full moon, and there was a nice breeze. It was an awesome experience. The album was much better than I anticipated, and I expected it to be great.
I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually becomes CBM album of the decade for me. It's that good.

I don't currently understand the concept of "album of the ______" where blank is a length of considerable time.
I guess I just can't publicly crown any one album as champion because 1) there's a lot I haven't heard Christian or secular and 2) liking something doesn't always correlate with it being "the best" or being "more talented".
This wasn't always the case.
When I first heard Cradle of Filth's "Cruelty and the Beast", I declared it king of all my music, thus nullifying (or at least taking down a rung) all Christian music I've ever heard.
...but like any other album I enjoyed and still occasionally enjoy, I get bored with it. I'm not in the mood for it, or am in the mood for something else... in other words, Cruelty and the Beast was "album of the ______" for probably 6 months.
Never had anyone call any one of my 16 releases "album of the ______", (and sad to say I listen to my own music more than anyone else) but I'd feel that to be an overstatement.
Like any release mine or not that I listen to, I feel more like: It's good. It's worth listening to. It's my favorite in a way, partly because I created it, but no way can I currently choose on release/band and self appoint them a crown.
Maybe I'm just not as passionate about music anymore, but I can't "file" music like that.
That being said, what I heard of this Hesychast (which I'm probably horribly mispronouncing) sounds good. I do want to hear more...

Hesychast (which I'm probably horribly mispronouncing) I don't know much about Russian, but I know "Hesychast" isn't a direct transliteration into the Latin alphabet. Looking at their logo, their name looks more like "Isihas-" and then a letter at the end that I can't identify. It looks like a щ with a tilde over it..? But щ doesn't make a "t" sound, so I don't know what's going on with their name.

That being said, what I heard of this Hesychast (which I'm probably horribly mispronouncing) sounds good. I always pronounced it hezzy-khast but I have no idea... I do want to hear more... You can download it for free on their Bandcamp!

I saw that it was free, but I'd rather send them some money for it. Perhaps later today.
If they know what they're doing as far as the name and language, it's all good. I learned my lesson when it comes to relying on a translator.
Back on the BCMMB forum when Grim was new, I went by "Blod Kongestaven" which is what Google said "Blood Scepter" was in Norwegian.
...until a Norwegian member pointed out that the name was not as awesome as I thought it was.

I don't currently understand the concept of "album of the ______" where blank is a length of considerable time. I'm usually cautious of making such a declaration (and noticed that I followed the declaration with "for me"; I'm not trying to claim that everyone likes this album lol), but this completely blew me away last night. I said "I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually becomes CBM album of the decade for me", so that left a lot of room for uncertainty and more discernment as to how much I really enjoy this album. It's possible that I'll go back to it and not like it as much as I did the first time. Basically, it was my way of saying that my first impression of this album was that it is super amazing.

Haha! I would guess that Blod Kongestaven would translate to: Blood King's Stave.
I agree. Only do stuff in other languages when you know that it is 90% or more grammatically correct or makes sense.
