Some for me: 1) Really feeling Sunday's corporate worship: subtly but surely headbangs to hymns 2) Bible study leader speaks about David's refugee in the city of Shiloh: has Frost Like Ashes* stuck in head for rest of the hour 3) Every Bible study ever: can't help but notice metal bands/albums/songs that reference the Scripture being studied
What about y'all?
*the tune is "Of Spirit And Power," in which 'Shiloh' is screamed often ha

Number three is the only one that really applies to me. I remember seeing a heading for a section in Revelation that said "Satanic Rebellion Crushed", and I was like "Hey, that's Abdijah's EP!".

Reading the Old Testament and thinking of a band every time you see a city name
Edit: I myself am guilty of this, with Bozkath. Woops.

Turn up volume at end of CCM song to enjoy repeated chorus that fades beautifully: ears shattered as next song on iPod is FAR-too-loud lo-fi black metal* shrieking
*Fire Throne, as it were.

LOL, I just realized that I wrote Psalm 157 instead of 147 in my post. Oops. There is no Psalm 157!

Yup. I guess I didn't make the typo in my search on Bible Gateway.

I was reading a bit in Ecclesiastes this morning and I was thinking about 1:8, "All things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing."
... and the last bit I was like 'Ahhhh, I can't stop searching for new music!'

Can't carry a conversation with my metalhead friends about God Can't carry a conversation with my Christian friends about metal.
I need better local friends. And honestly there's only one other Christian metalhead in my city who is active at his church and metal scene (Gryp, Join the Dead excluded because they aren't in the real Fresno metal scene)

Seeing "DC" and thinking of the guy from Vials of Wrath instead of comic books?
... I don't know, it happened to me today!

We were praying with the pastor at church service and an infant was shrieking ... the combination of prayer and screaming made me think of Orationem's black metal prayer sessions.
"The Spirit of the Lord" was repeated a few times at church service ... the rest of the time I had Days of Midian by They Wither stuck in my head. It's. So. Catchy.

This doesn't fit exactly, but I did just notice that the sweet Galatian verses on the upper half of my awesome Starve The Flesh T are effectively now covered by my (super metal) hair, which is not the most ideal.

That's exactly why I don't buy shirts with a "message" on the back.

*is actually studying Joel and thinks to myself* I guess I'll listen to Terrible Visitation by Frost Like Ashes ... beats your standard audio Bible, I suppose.

*reads beginning of Matthew* might as well listen to Paramaecium's 'Exhumed Of The Earth' for the ambiance, I suppose.
